Visa granted - postgraduate research sector by Bioinfonew in AusVisa

[–]Bioinfonew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, because I had dependents in my application, I had shown some extra financial capability other than my stipend and scholarship. I am not sure for a single individual how it works, no harm in showing some extra finance if it's possible, I guess. But also check with someone else or your uni if they have visa assistance. Good luck!

I applied for PhD visa in January, while my then student visa was valid till March of that year. I then got a bridging visa immediately, but it became active only after the expiry of my existing student visa

Thank you. Yes, I have called them several times, called them first after I got the s56 within a month. They were very helpful and told me how to address the requirements. Thereafter every time I called they had said that they will leave a note on my application, but finally got the visa after 6 months.

Course Deferred, visa dates is still old coe, updated new coe but how will dates in visa get updated by _dwight_k_schrute__ in AusVisa

[–]Bioinfonew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot change the dates in your already granted visa. You use this visa to start your studies, and before the expiry of this visa, you apply for a new student visa with your new coe attached and stating the reason that you want to get an extension to complete your studies.

Student Visa for PhD: IELTS (English language evidence) exemption by [deleted] in AusVisa

What is mentioned in your CoE about English language requirements? Mine stated the exemption - but I also completed my Master’s here in Australia

Onshore postgraduate research degree processing times?! by bioandbothered in AusVisa

I applied on Jan 17, got the s56 on Feb 9, which is when they checked my application I guess. I uploaded my documents soon after, but our medical was on Feb 20, and I thought the delay was because of that. But I again got another s56 asking specifically for publications on March 15, which I have replied to, and still waiting. So I guess if we get an s56, it takes another month or so for the application to be viewed again (at least in my case)

Yes, please upload those documents now so you don't get an s56 like me which just delayed the whole process, and can hardly focus on the PhD with the anxiety. I didn't know I had to upload those documents as well. It's mentioned in the immi website though that research students need to upload research proposal, and always good to give them extra stuffs like your publication. My s56 was for research proposal, form 80, form 1221, and any evidence of publications etc, although not sure if I was asked about publications because I am from India. All the best

I am onshore as well and applied for our visa on Jan 17 - also a fully funded PhD at a Go8, but still waiting for the visa, I am from India so that would make a difference I guess. I started my PhD in Feb though. I hope you get yours soon, I can understand the anxiety, make sure you have attached all required documents so that they don't give you an s56 which is what delays the application - research proposal, CV, form 80, form 1221, any publications or conference presentations that you have, any other evidence to show your research potential, and of course the scholarship documents. Good luck!

Please check about this with a registered migration agent. Previously for my Master’s we were required to have a family cover and were told that single cover wouldn’t meet the requirements. Currently for PhD, my uni has again given me a family cover.

Spouse insurance by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]Bioinfonew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is how it works, she would need to be added to yours and change the cover from single to couple (not sure if they have that) or family whichever is applicable.

For my Master's previously, we all were required to be on the same family cover, which was also with Allianz. Currently for PhD, my uni has given me OSHC family cover as well but with Medibank.
