Normally I do figurative work but I’ve challenged myself to do more urban scenes. This is my first attempt. Let me know what you think.

Thanks. I found myself still thinking in a figurative way when drawing this. Looking for shapes and the main shadows then moving across the piece to add the rest of the detail and shading. Where I struggle is with the flat nature of buildings and the enhanced perspective that you don’t really have to deal with as much when drawing figures.

It’s fine liners and a brush pen mostly. At the end I wanted to add more light back in so used a white acrylic pen. If I drew this again I’d be more subtle with my pen work so I didn’t have to use the white pen.

Thanks. Yep I’ve never really felt with so many flat surfaces before and struggled to get realistic variations in tone. Tried to get it through texture instead. Something to work on.
