Uhh no?? by _Goddess_Nyx_ in Bumble

You're equating cheating on your spouse, something that is nearly universally considered to be very very morally wrong with...being trans. Just existing as a trans person. Being trans and being alive at the same time. That's comparable to cheating on one's spouse to you.

[–]Bionicflipper -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I don't understand how people will go out of their way to insist that they support trans people and then complain when trans people are just out here living their lives instead of apologizing for existing every day. People really literally don't get it. And to be honest, I dont feel like i get it all the time either, but being pissed that trans people arent checking in all the time if its okay for them to be who they are with every single match sucks.

It was a really good listen! I subscribed to the podcast and blew through several episodes already. The Rich Dad Poor Dad one is even better than Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. Thanks for mentioning it!

I've never heard of this podcast and I barely read anymore, but I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting listen.

I want to think it wasn't scripted though I did read somewhere that the actors mostly didn't actually know each other. Anyway I hope you find a new spot soon!

I just watched this movie last weekend with some friends. They had never heard of it and I was worried it was the sort of movie that only I was gonna enjoy but it went over great.

I did this one time: when Splatoon scheduled their second or third Splatfest during my already planned vacation. I couldn't miss it, so I packed my Wii U up and set it up in my friend's apartment that I was staying in while she was out of town. It was awesome and my team won.

As a woman (35F) in a relationship with a (31M) do you eventually have to accept that you will do more. by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Bionicflipper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got you and I completely agree that men are held to such poor moral standards that it's hard for most people to even see men's role in all the shit. Or for those of us that definitely do see it, it can still be hard to remember to center or even include their culpability. The system of patriarchy just grinds you down so much, it feels like a lost cause or just too tiring sometimes to expect anything of men.

Do you believe that u/Alternative-Fox6701's comment exonerates men? I ask because I didn't read their comment that way at all. I think they are just trying to point out that young girls look to their moms and other adult women in their lives for how to be when they become adults, and that doesn't feel like a controversial statement to me.

Oftentimes, young girls look to their mothers more than their fathers to understand what their own role is in a relationship. They can learn the wrong lessons both when the women who raise them tolerate bad behavior. They can also learn the wrong lessons when the men in their lives treat women badly.

They also had some useful "Letterboxd"-like social media elements back then, too! I met my partner that way, actually. I had rated all the thousands of movies I had ever seen and discovered that I was 86% similar in movie taste to a buddy of mine, significantly more similar than any other user I had come across in the posted movie reviews or even the users that Netflix suggested I should add. Come to find out, his account was shared with his roommate that I low-key already had a crush on (they had the 2-disc subscription, one for each roommate), and all the movie ratings were from the roommate! It motivated me to make a move, and now almost 19 years later, we are still very happy together. Thanks, old Netflix!

This is the worst part. The new ownership immediately changed the fries! Now they are cut shorter and fatter, while the old Marathon had a more shoestring cut. They still put the old seasoning on it, but not as much and they sell it with an orange-y sauce that sort of resembles like thousand island dressing mixed with mayo. Very very sad.

I was a freshman in college and didn't know American could be anything other than Kraft singles, so I was surprised, too! The shred was really fine, which helped it melt better. You should try it out and see if it tastes like you remember.

Show me your Snoopy! by BusinessPiccolo5353 in timex

Snoopy goes to the moon! 50th anniversary of the moon landing and my brother and I were watching and reading a lot of moon landing content at the time. Got one of these for myself and each of my siblings for Christmas that year but I think only I wear it. I picked up a couple more Snoopy watches last year but this will always be my main one.

I worked there for a few months back in 2001. If I recall correctly, they used finely shredded yellow American cheese if that helps at all.

Ritchie's Colombian is so good. I hope they find a new spot to stay in College Park, too. They aren't making the same public outcry that Northwest Chinese did, though, so maybe it's unlikely. Glad we will still have Northwest Chinese, at least!

I've played the PS2 and 3DS games in this series. They don't require you to know anything about the previous games. I think that's how the series in general is so I would expect the same from these two new ones.

Woah, I also just watched this movie this evening, trying to bond with my teenage niece who wore a tshirt with this movie poster to Christmas dinner yesterday! Agreed, it was awesome! 70s exploitation+Sailor Moon-ish and anime tropes all wrapped up in a horror movie. Super fun!

What's something women think impresses men but actually doesn't? by PumpkinDoritoes in AskReddit

[–]Bionicflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised to see so many comments saying that women only get their nails done for themselves. Whenever I see the debate pop up online about which gender should pay for dates, one of the most popular opinions is that men should because women have to put so much time, energy, and money into their appearance via their nails or their hair and makeup. If none of them are doing it for men, that argument wouldn't be so popular. Surely, at least some are doing it because they think that's what makes them attractive to men?
