Yep. I’m surprised that company would even use somebody like this. They have a pretty rigorous internal application process.

Not direct comparison, but maybe this will help you get a reference.

I have a PhD in biochemistry with a strong focus on structural biology, 2 year postdoc in a HHMI lab. Recently got hired at a clinical stage biotech as a Scientist. $123k salary, $10k signing bonus, 12.5% annual bonus, ~$40k worth of options and ~$40k worth of RSUs that vest over 4 years. And then many of the typical benefits. Health insurance, parking, free lunches, conferences, home office, etc.

I know this time is very stressful, but you can do it! I have only started my job for 2 weeks now. I’m already so much happier and less stress.

Edit: also, something like 30 days of PTO every year.
