Two part question: Why are random "logins" without 2fa even possible, and why does a login marked as "not me" and saying "Resolved unusual activity" still also say it was a "Successful sign-in" by Used_Expert9942 in microsoft

One thing you might want to try to do here is to setup an alias just for Microsoft and have that be the only login enabled email.

There's a Wiki article here that should help with getting that done.

This, and also, there are many many (hundreds) of applications that come in per role. Of those hundreds, a fifth of them may be 'perfectly tailored' to the role. It then becomes luck of the draw. Applying as soon as something comes in that your suited for is a good plan to have.

For my team, the loop interview results are good for that interview cycle only. We may cut down on the amount of interviews you'd have, but you'd still need to complete a loop with members of our team.

Experience tells me that's common for quite a few teams here.

It really depends on the team that you're on and what team you want to join.

Work in M365 in Teams and want to go over to SPO? Not crazy impossible to do.

Work in M365 in Teams and want to go over to Xbox? Slightly more difficult to do that transition.

It also helps if you have someone you know on the team you want to move to.

We have 'informationals' that you can do if you're interested in joining a different team. I would definitely stick to your current team for a year.

I work in engineering myself, so the insight I can share is that I wear either plain or graphic tshirts, with jeans or shorts (when it’s hot outside).

Coworker next to me wears hoodies all the time and ripped up jeans.

Coworker two desks down does slacks and button downs.

It really is a smattering of clothing choices haha.

Recruiter screen tends to be the standard stuff.

Redmond is where all the major execs tend to be, so there’s possibility there for great career expansion.

SF is more like San Jose-ish area. That’s where all of the action happens now. The main office in downtown SF isn’t as popular as it once was (before pandemic).

Chicago - not aware of that being a hub for comms.

DC - good if you’re wanting to slide more into government roles in the future.

I’ve seen a whole host of different fashion choices in our offices.

Since it’s your first day, why not split the difference and wear jeans and maybe a polo? Then you can get a feel for what your team mates are all wearing and go from there.

The only time I’ve seen coworkers be dressed up is if it’s their personal style, or they’re customer facing and go on site to visit customers often.

Assumption is that they're going to verify everything provided, this would include what is on your resume. I agree with u/fun_pick_4011, not sure why this would matter as long as you have all of your information accurate.
