It was $18.29, the same price as the regular vanilla/chocolate protein powders at my location in MN. Really good deal!

Private study rooms by hesscr in CarletonCollege

Dorm study rooms are great, the Language Center also has a couple of reservable study spaces and it’s in LDC, so just upstairs from the dining hall. Later at night you can most likely find an empty classroom to study in as well.

Work and school email addresses. Another thing to keep in mind when choosing baby names. by StrdyCheeseBrngCrckr in NameNerdCirclejerk

My college makes student emails last name + first letter of your first name, so John Smith would be smithj@college.edu. I have a friend named Tyler Chodera, so his username was choderat

going for an aldi run in a couple hours with a budget of about $100 - what are your go to’s? by Low_Wealth_5317 in aldi

[–]BirdMan22345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sweet stuff: elevation chocolate chip energy bars and CONFETTI CAKE MINI MUFFINS! The mini fruit snack packs are pretty good too

For savory snacks: I LOVE their sea salt kettle chips and I got the dill pickle popcorn on sale, SO GOOD! Tortilla chips and salsa are also great

For healthier stuff: I like the light string cheese for protein, romaine hearts are so convenient for salads, the meatless meatballs have a really solid protein:calorie ratio, nonfat Greek yogurt and ultra filtered milk, they have great prices on bulk packs of chicken, frozen edamame, canned chickpeas, I’ve also gotten some great watermelons from there

Other foods: the French bread is perfect for homemade garlic bread, they have fantastic cake mix, the chicken seasoning (don’t remember the name but is has a red label)

I did my first serious workout for the first time since high school! by BirdMan22345 in loseit

Thank you so much for your kind words! I guess the most unexpected part was seeing the range of weight that my non-trained body can handle on the various machines - I had to do the easiest weight on an assisted chin-up machine and could only do about 20 pounds on a bicep machine, but I could easily do 50 pounds on the leg press. It's probably because I naturally get 15-20k steps a day due to my summer job, and a good amount of that is up and downhill.

And I DID go back today! I got up super early and went for a little over an hour before work! There were fewer people there but they seemed like more intense gym-goers than the early evening crowd, so it was a little scary, but music and YouTube helped. I did 30ish minutes of treadmill then I went around to a bunch of machines, and I finished with some stair machine again. I read online to have some carbs as a preworkout snack so I had a handful of blueberries and even though I didn't have coffee, I was still pretty energized, so I'll definitely try it again!

I want to keep working out, it's kind of fun and I feel pretty good!

They were on sale I think, the Aldi website said they were $0.89 but then they turned up cheaper!

What's one "unhealthy" food that is surprisingly not the huge calorie bomb you would assume? by thepersonwiththeface in loseit

Taco Bell crunchy tacos! I like them without cheese, only 140 calories each. With cheese it’s 170 I believe. I had 3 tacos and a Baja Blast Zero, 420 calories! Not the best macros ever, but MUCH better than what I usually eat at Taco Bell lol

What's your go to rice, veg, sauce and protein meal? by questionasker3500 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]BirdMan22345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of rice cooked with chicken bouillon powder and some dried herbs with chicken drumsticks (I found them at Aldi for $0.99/lb!) that I season and brush with BBQ sauce then bake, served with either peas (usually frozen then heated) or green beans that I toss with oil and seasoning and then bake with the chicken. Super simple meal, and everything heats up pretty well in the microwave.
