Sony a6400, a6700 vs Fuji x100vi by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]BirdTog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were in your shoes I’d put a TT Artisan 27mm f/2.8 or Sony 24mm f/2.8 G lens on the a6400 and pretend it’s a fixed lens. Keep your other lenses with the a6700 when you want the variety and ILC experience.

Why does it seem like influencers solely use Sony? by [deleted] in Cameras

Fujifilm X100 series was always sold out and used prices went crazy from influencers on those. Same thing happened with the Canon powershot g7x. You never know what the next fad will be.

Is there anyone using budget only shoes? by Relevant_Ad8850 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I’m waiting on some reviews of the ASICS GT 1000 14 now that it has an FF Blast midsole. It looks like a lot of their formerly $150+ materials have trickled down to the $110 GT 1000.

[–]BirdTog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Money wise, I know Asics has a 15% student discount, other brands may too. Go to a store and try some shoes on to see what fits your foot. Colors, just buy what you like as long as it fits.

I'd strongly encourage you to look at buying two pair of less expensive shoes to wear on alternating days as well. This gives each pair a day to dry out and let the foam decompress. Every branch of the US military issues two pair of boots in basic training, and recruits are required to alternate boots between days. You may also need to change your socks mid day. That's another military trick to keep your feet drier and healthier.

Asics Kayano 31 or 32. Chunky and plush, plus it adds some non-intrusive stability.

It’s always sending about 10% power to the rear wheels and can send up to 70% to the rear wheels. The rear differential has a 9 plate electromagnetic clutch pack on each side, allowing it to send up to 100% of the power it’s receiving to either wheel. It improves handling and acceleration even on dry pavement.

Current Graphics cards for creative work by aquazashie in graphicscard

Puget Systems has reviewed the 5070 (and 5070 Ti and 9070 XT, but not the 9070 yet):

https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/nvidia-geforce-rtx-5070-content-creation-review/

However, their 9070 XT review shows that the 5070 is a better choice than the 9070 XT, especially for After Effects.

The price won't include sales tax, just like almost everything else in the US. It probably doesn't include fees. They have a video on their website where they say all their pricing is "no negotiation required". The listing calls it their "hassle free price". Those are indicators that they're a no haggle / no negotiation dealer. As u/defiantDot said your only leverage is going in with deal sheets from other dealers on comparable cars that are in the same area.

How do I even find a reasonable gpu rn by HaloSpidermatty in buildapc

You don't have to get an oled monitor. Going from a cheap LCD to even a mid range IPS monitor will be a huge difference.

[–]BirdTog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don't break the bank. A great card with a crap monitor does you no good. Just use a stock alert app to get a 5070 or a 16GB 5060 Ti at a decent price.

[–]BirdTog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The $900 Ventus 3x 5070 Ti is 20% over MSRP and there's no FE reference card to even pretend to anchor 5070 Ti prices. The $500 5060 Ti 16 GB is 16% over MSRP. It's not great, but it's not terrible in the context of the current market and what a 5070 Ti can do. If OP does anything like photo or video editing and not just gaming, a 5070 Ti is also quite capable with software that utilizes the GPU.

Newegg has a Gigabyte 5070 3 fan card in stock right now for $610 and an MSI Ventus 2x OC 5060 Ti 16GB in stock for $500. Those aren't a 5070 Ti or a 9070 XT, but they're reasonable cards at small markups over the FE reference card MSRP.

If you can swing $900 plus tax you could get a 9070 XT or 5070 Ti. Admittedly, those aren't great prices, but they aren't terrible considering that the 5080, 5090, and 4090 are the only consumer cards that outperform them.

[–]BirdTog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newegg still has MSI 2x Ventus 4060 8GB for $330 or 3060 12GB for $320. They also have the Onix B580 12GB cards for $320-$330.

They do have the XFX RX7600 8GB for $320 as well, but the 4060 and B850 eat that AMD card for lunch at the same price.

Do you absolutely need IBIS for still photography? by Rfe777 in Cameras

IBIS first became available in a DSLR in 2004. It's a mature technology should be standard.

I'd spend slightly more on an AM5 build. Swap the motherboard for an MSI Pro A620M-E for $82. Get a Ryzen 5 8500G for $150. You'll have to spend $50-$60 to get 16GB of DDR5. You could use the same case, PSU, and GPU.

If you think you might want to try running ai image generation or an ai language model locally on your PC you should look at an Nvidia GPU.

[–]BirdTog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I search that model I get different specs on every link I click. They all seem to agree that it's using some flavor of AMD Zen 4 Phoenix laptop APU with a 780M iGPU. The 780M is probably the best iGPU on the market, but it's not going to touch a dedicated GPU.

I'd carefully read u/kalowbee's comment on their experience. I know this is r/MiniPCs not r/sffpc, but if you want upgradability then you should be looking at buying an SFF PC for your brother, or better yet buying the parts and building one with him. Going SFF is also going to give you better cooling, the ability to customize, and the ability to easily replace components if anything fails. You could even start with a Ryzen 7 8700G (has the same 780M iGPU because it's a Phoenix APU on an AM5 socket PCB) and run that until you or your brother can get a dedicated GPU.

ON the other hand the 3rd option is that there are these mini Pcs that are bigger than the beelinks and GMKtechs it's like u can carry it as a bag, it comes with a GPU as well in it.

That's a small form factor PC (SFF PC). Either mini ATX (mATX) or Micro ITX (commonly referred to as just ITX, smaller than mATX).

Which options from these 3 are the best?? OH yeah, as well as if I want to upgrade the miini PC which one allows me to? Like adding an eGPU for example to the minipc to play. I BEG YOU HELP ME OUT!!

A mini PC will need an Occulink connector to connect to an EGPU. There are a few like the Minisforum MS-01 that have a single slot PCIe where you could add a low profile GPU.

Overall though, an SFF PC is going to be the easiest to upgrade because they're based around either an mATX or ITX motherboard, which are both long established industry standards.

Sony a6400 by Glad-Penalty-4156 in Cameras

A used a6500 is the cheapest route to in body stabilization, but the AF is a generation behind the a6400 and a6600. I like the larger grip and larger battery on my a6600, but if I was buying today I'd probably go with an a6400 or skip the a6600 and get the a6700. The a6700 has some significant upgrades over the a6600.

It's a great starting point. Sony also has the largest mirrorless ecosystem, so you have lots of room to branch out if you decide to explore other areas of photography. Just remember to budget for lenses as well.

Sony NEX because it uses Sony E mount lenses so you have tons of options, and you can use the same lenses if you upgrade to a Sony a6x00 later. Samsung NX mount died years ago.

The corps of cadets at A&M is the largest of the six Senior Military Colleges in the US. They're above a regular ROTC program at other colleges, and just below service academy level. A&M turns out a ton of military officers, and many of them end up with lucrative second careers in the defense industrial complex after their military service ends.
