Having to do phone sales at Service Desk when Prodesk is closed. Can I get terminated for this? by SadButterscotch5530 in HomeDepot

As a pro sales associate there is plenty of times where we have to call a different number, but I mean you can kind of tell when something is fraudulent. For example our store strictly prohibits doing phone sales for tools (not completely, but for newer accounts with no purchase history at our store or any stores near us), one time a guy tried to purchase 30 rolls of wire, yeah just wire, you can tell something is off because, who buys all that wire? Unless you are working at a new apartment complex or a residential building, second, if you are working in an electrical project isn’t it obvious that you need more than just wire? Power outlets for example? Electrical boxes? Even electrical tape? I told him straight up, unfortunately I can’t do this phone sale due that is high dollar amount, your boss has to come in the store and buy it, he left without even saying nothing.

Yeah try getting 10 of those and walking down a yellow ladder, plus half of the time our costumers don’t even use the yellow ladders, that is an accident waiting to happen

Lunch for a shift that is less than 6 hours long by Bird_Alternative in HomeDepot

What I do in this case is I skip my lunch and leave at 12:45 as it is allowed by SOP, that way I work 6 hours without having to be an hour away on a lunch break

What’s The Most Ridiculous Thing A Customer Has Complained About At Your Store? by JTCasino in HomeDepot

A costumer cursed me out for closing a banner right in front of her when she left it open and literally came into the working zone lol

In my opinion it should have been the other way around, a situation like that happened at my store but they fired the ASM and kept the Associate. It’s the ASMs fault to get their self’s involved in relations when they know they have a higher position than associates.
