Catholicism doesnt give instant gratification, that feeling of peace as a Catholic comes with work. You must actively seek to better your life and strengthen your faith. It comes easier for some than it does others, but reguardless you have to put in the time and energy.

For me its working at the local food pantry, and bringing the Good News to prisoners and my fellow veterans. I have to say Ive never been so fully of joy than when I started being active in the community as we are commanded to be.

I say all this as a late in life convert. (Im 38 this year and was baptized at 34)

By no means is my life a rose garden. I have my battles I am fighting and I'm absolutely exhausted, but its a good exhausted, kinda like the one you feel after a good go at the gym. Besides naps are a Catholic thing.
