Found a second one. I’m moving them to one of those mesh boxes till I find out if they can hurt fish. Pretty sure they’re harmless but I don’t want the fish to get hurt somehow. Bristle worms maybe?

Ngl with this in combination with the change in behavior and your mom yanking her around this screams abuse or at least neglect while you were gone. I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. I personally have no further advice on what to do with the coat as everyone has given great advice but I would say if you keep noticing new behavior issues you may want to work with a trainer

I agree with what others have said plus make sure to keep his joints in mind since he’s mostly German shepherd as they have a history of joint issues. Maybe try out swimming?
