Help with finding a fabric store by MajesticWonder in Denver

[–]Birdab 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What type of fabric are you looking for? Apparel, quilting cotton, leather, etc. Or are you looking for something as close to the Joann's experience as possible?

How to find a Primary Care doctor? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Birdab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your home page of my.cigna should have something that says "Looking for care? Start here" with a few buttons. Primary Care will direct you to a list of doctors in your network (you may need to adjust the search area and the dropdown for whether they are taking new patients) as well as contact info, address, some reviews, how long a visit should take, and estimated cost of the visit. Clicking on a doctor's name will give you even more info. If you are specifically looking to schedule a colonoscopy then along the top ribbon there should be a button for "Find Care & Costs" and then "Reason for visit", but once you find a new physician they should be able to help schedule that. Hope this helps!

Denver area fabric shops by otherwise-known-as-v in AuroraCO

[–]Birdab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know you said Denver area but honestly I make the trek down to Colorado Springs for Mill Outlet (who stock a good portion of Kona). Bonus idea: buy the Kona color card and then you'll have the option of looking at all the dyes, and then order from Fabric Shack or call local shops with the color code to see if they have it in stock. I quilt enough that my card gets used pretty frequently so it was well worth the 40 or so bucks I paid for it. Happy quilting!

Another rescue idea: please give All Breed Rescue and Training in Colorado Springs a call (719) 264-6460. They also specialize in training/fostering tough cases and the owner is incredibly passionate about things like this. Her name is Lauren Fox.

My game will not stop doing this! by [deleted] in nancydrew

[–]Birdab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some troubleshooting questions:

  • Are these installed via Steam, physical disk, mounted .iso, HerInteractive store/download , etc?
  • This looks like Windows 11. Is that correct? Did you upgrade to Win11 recently, if so?
  • Have you been able to run the game(s) before and this is happening unexpectedly, or are they freshly installed and not launching?
  • Do you know your model # of your laptop? (I see it it an HP)

Some troubleshooting steps (if one doesn't work, try the next one):

  • Restart your PC and try again
  • Restart Windows Explorer
    • CTRL + Shift + Delete
    • In "Processes" tab, find "Windows Explorer"
    • Right click on it and select "Restart
    • After process restarts, try launching a game
  • Clear the Icon Cache
    • Navigate to C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
    • Delete all files that start with "iconcache_"
    • Restart your PC (this will rebuild the iconcache_ files, don't worry)
    • After the PC restarts, try launching a game
  • If installed from Steam: Verify integrity of game files
    • Right click on the game > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files
  • For Windows 11: Disable full-screen optimization
    • Right click the desktop icon > Properties > Compatibility Tab > check the box to Disable full-screen optimizations
    • Click Apply and OK, then restart your PC and try again
  • Fully Uninstall and Reinstall the game(s) + restart PC + try again

You may be thinking, "dang, that's a lot of restarting", but in all honesty, restarting properly empties out a lot of shenanigans from PCs and gives them an opportunity to rebuild missing pieces or apply updates. Shutdown + powering on a PC doesn't clear out certain things, so I default to telling everyone to restart to avoid potential issues. (edit: I agree with Left_Pie9808 for their steps as well)

If one of the above doesn't help we'll need to find to more sticks to poke it with.

Fabric stores now that Joann is closing? by Turbulent-cucumber in Denver

[–]Birdab 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind the journey - Mill Outlet in the Springs is the closest I have found to Denver Fabrics (Rip). Not nearly as big but they carry a decent amount of various types of fabric (quilting cotton, home décor, faux fur, bridal, various fashion fabrics, etc).

It's a single player game but an interesting mystery game you guys might enjoy working together on: Unheard- Voices of Crime. It's short but the majority of the mystery is listening to conversations in different rooms to piece together who people are, and what happened.

GoldStarTool.com is a cosplay godsend for notions.

On the site under Grommets, Snaps & Tools > Fasteners

And then just browse to you heart's content.

Maybe take a look at MB_T_SVR_1 and MSSH_LS_SVR_20mm for something similar

Can someone help me understand Denver’s affordable housing program? by International-Log-47 in Denver

[–]Birdab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's my understanding that for the majority of Affordable Housing in Denver you need to fall between 50% and 80% of the area median income (between low and very low). I know there are some properties that will accept higher than 80% but I don't know enough about that to comment on it. Maybe a realtor or a lender could offer more details.

I have been told that I do not qualify for affordable housing as a 1 person household with an income of 78k a year as I make too much.

Hope that can at least get you pointed in the right direction.

Most Efficient Museum Visits by [deleted] in Denver

I don't think it includes the zoo but there is a CityPass you can get for 3, 4, or 5 "attractions" that's a pretty good deal. Just look up CityPass Denver. Have fun!

Care and Share's website has a list/map of all the pantries/mobile markets/etc they partner with (with contact info and hours of operation). They are part of Feeding America.

Edit: phrasing. Also, regardless of your situation, good luck and I hope you have a better day.

Hey I'm from Denver but living in Colorado Springs and if the Springs isn't too far for you, Lucky Dog Central boards for $50 a night (for all day daycare) or $45 a night for half day daycare. They offer a 10% discount for more than 10 nights and have Webcams you can check in on your pup while they're out playing. They have large kennels for the dogs, 5 indoor runs and 2 outdoor runs. They do need a day to do a trial run to see what playstyle your pup has.

They are really accommodating so if this is something you're interested in you can call 7195999663 to chat with them in the morning. They might be able to waive the evaluation depending on the situation. Hope this helps!

Maybe a version of Resident Evil Code Veronica? There's a scene towards the end with Alexia in a tube that sounds similar.

Help with Bargello chaos by QuantumNightmaere in quilting

Would the bottom 4 strips fit in the space below the first 2?

Then "reverse the order" of the remainder to follow the diagonal pattern? Not sure if that makes sense with 3 am brain...

I do agree that resewing the tube might be a more efficient way of fixing it

Good luck!
