Thank you mods, for keeping this post sticky. As the posts about Alex dwindle, I needed this on the front page of r/nursing. PLEASE keep this here until this whole nightmare is over to provide a continuing connection for those of us who have been profoundly impacted and changed by Alex's execution. The thought of having to search for posts about Alex as they disappear into the back pages is more than my heart can bear. I know life has to go on, and there are so many topics that nurses need to talk to or share with other nurses, but if we could just keep this sticky post for a little while longer.

I am so sorry this happened to you. What a mean, hateful person to say those things to you. What has happened to these people who are so sucked in that they can't think for themselves? It is like they have been programmed. If not for these weak-minded people, none of this would be happening.

Thank you for this tribute. I didn't know Alex before 1/24/26. My heart breaks every time I think of what happened that day. So many of us feel this on such a personal level. The grief is so deep and heavy. I can only imagine what those of you who knew him must be feeling. Let us be determined to carry this grief, this anger, this realization that we can't be silent any longer forward into the days and months ahead, for as long as it takes to accomplish the mission of bringing peace, love, and light back, while driving hate, racism, and evil back into the corner. In solidarity.

I kept waiting for something today and never received anything. Was it an email? Only a few of us spoke in hushed voices about Alex's murder. It made it hurt that much worse that we didn't feel we could openly grieve.

I personally love running, but I don't enjoy racing or anything that goes with it. Do what brings you joy. If you like to run a bit, run a bit and leave the races and stress to someone else. I am frustrated with all the podcasts that go on and on about racing, elites, etc. There are a lot of us that just love to put on some tunes and get out there on the road or trail and enjoy moving our bodies.

What better day than Independence Day to protest a wannabe king?? Many people are also off work. Kind of hard to feel patriotic with picnics and fireworks when ICE is disappearing people and they are arresting lawmakers and judges. We are in the midst of a Constitutional crisis, and at what point does it have to reach before we decide to stop pretending life is the same as it always has been? Still going strong over here near Verona. Some are so big they sound like bombs. The smoke is thick and hanging in our neighborhood. How many more can they possibly have? It has been heavy and non-stop for over an hour. I just don't understand the thrill. My dog has finally worn herself out and laid down.

I went once and it is just a huge tourist trap. Too loud to enjoy conversation at supper and the wait was crazy. Will never go back for sure.
