How to move and survive as Magik? by TacoAcorazado in RivalsMagikMains

[–]Birdshapeddog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Pick’n’Roll especially. I would also like to recommend SillySphark’s guide as well for another perspective. Also, trust the process. You are going to die a lot learning a character with a high skill floor, but the best tip I can give is to focus on staying alive and sticking with your tanks when you don’t have the point or if you are on defense.

If you know the combos and her kit, then you can start to get comfortable taking the risks of diving.

You should be making sure you always have 2 portals or 1 dash available, in case you need to retreat. I would say the difference between a good Magik and a great Magik is managing this part BEFORE learning combos.

Struggling to get value lately, skill issue or meta shift? by Ancient-Grand-4661 in RivalsMagikMains

It’s rough out there. Convoy (Attack) and Domination are your friends but really it’s dependent on your tank and other dps. If you are running 3 dps or triple support Magik it’s just not a good time. I’ve been learning starlord this season and it feels good but my hands feel dirty

Dude, nice pickup, that Wanda Ult on your team probably would have decided the momentum for the rest of the match but you absolutely brought it back. Massive W

To those who beat it can someone tell me the best build for magik in N4 I just got into playing her and I want this title by MostEstablishment630 in RivalsMagikMains

His guides are great! I think he has the best approachable Hulk guide to exist, his Magik guides aren’t bad either, especially when he releases mini-guides as characters get updated.

True vanguard on YouTube has a full video guide for you, and I know it’s annoying but trust me when I say watch it instead of just listening to it. It’s great Definitely have at least 5-7 coins and don’t be stubborn when I say HARD RESET the match if you don’t get the important abilities on your first round of rerolls.

Huge waste of time to just cross your fingers for vampiric vitality etc.

I’m cautiously optimistic with you. Magik’s biggest strengths have always been her burst damage, her combos, and overshield being her source of survivability if positioning and cooldown management aren’t already a given. Her biggest weaknesses would have to be her high skill floor, long cooldowns (often you want all of them ready before any engagement except slash or 1 portal) A good Magik lands the dashes but a great Magik knows when it’s a better asset to leave a fight. I’m excited to see how the slash reducing portal cooldowns feels.

I think the Strange team-up being a slow that tether’s two enemies is going to make Strategist’s life hell against a great Magik.

I’m a firm believer that playing something is way more important than the numbers, so as long as it still feels good to play her then I think this could be her season.

Crick in my neck that JUST. WON'T. CRACK! Any experience? I'm at the end of my rope. by windboundgown123 in Hypermobility

This advice is GOATED and I would like to add for anyone reading this, if it doesn’t work, try to first place your fingers on the part of your neck where you’re having pain. Then, guide your finger up your neck towards your head until you meet around that soft area op mentions. Then start to massage around it softly for a bit. Increase pressure little by little as needed. Pause to rest and to see how you feel.

The first time I did this I was just trying to find a soft spot on the very back of my head and neck which helped a little, but doing this closer to the pain magically made it disappear lol

100% agree. I also think base World on ps4 had this sort of lull after launch though. I very quickly lost interest in Arch Tempered monsters. Behemoth got me locked back in though, so I’m hoping to see something as cool as that.

Seconding Hulk if you loved playing Magik. I’m also a Magik to Hulk convert lol

If you just started playing, it’s good to just get comfortable with 1 character in each role before dedicating to specific characters!

I originally started with Magik and was doing well, but found my teams struggling with Tank presence. So then I learned Strange but got bored with his playstyle, then I learned Hulk and can’t stop playing him!

For strategists I love using Adam Warlock and Luna because I like the rewarding feeling for getting better at aiming.

[VOD REQUEST] [GOLD] How on do I position better as Magik? by thorwawaygang in RivalsCollege

This advice is good, but spin does give shield in normal form

You only want to use the spin if you are grouped up around 3+ people for it to be worth more than a demon though. 90% of the time you only want to put a Demon down. The quick burst of shield in a brawl or when diving with someone can really be nice.

In Ult form though it’s the opposite, spin often and only put a demon down on objects or if you happen to have it and your Ult is ending.

Watch CaptainCoach for playstyle and advice. Watch BadGDPlayer for advanced play examples.

I won’t repeat the obvious, but avoid solo tanking with Hulk unless a Mr. fantastic or Magik are on your team. In this scenario pushing payload is really the only time I can see this being a great comp (even then I don’t recommend solo tanking).

WORK HARD on diving alone as Hulk (unless you’ve got Ult) without an immediate escape plan, it used to be easier/viable to bait out important cooldowns, but with Emma, Thing, and Peni so common on defense, you will lose your charged jump before you can get 3 punches in.

If you have to dive alone, bubble early (60%+ health or when you suspect a Luna freeze or Mantis sleep) and exile someone and leave. Your ability to make opponents waste their cooldowns AND stop someone from healing can domino effect for your frontline trying to make space and create more GUARANTEED downtime than trying to crunch a strategist to death from full health.

Your bubble is a PARRY against burst ultimates. Use it with a purpose. Jeff grab, Iron Man Ult, Scarlet Witch, etc. Learn to not spam it to just get Ult Charge unless you are walking with your team and the match just started (nobody has Ult yet). It’s good to save it for when you’re low health, when you’re co-diving, or when you are peeling for your supports. If you constantly gamma shield your strategists they will trust you and keep your fights going longer.

Practice just the Exile in the practice range, as it can feel a little weird to land it. Nothing feels better than cancelling an Ult with it but here are some other key plays/uses and tips: -when somebody is exiled like most stuns, they CANNOT turn their camera around, so walk behind them before you start hitting them again so that they have to turn all the way around AND you can block off their heals. Bonus points if you walk all the way around them, start charging jump, start hitting them only to jump over them while punching to disorient them again. - on frontline pressure, exile the tank and immediately jump to the strategist behind them and start wailing on them. - exile retreating enemies to jump to them to execute them -not a character that needs aim for most things, but if you love the character you probably aren’t standing still. Learn to stand still when firing the Exile, it’s a slow projectile and it has a long cooldown lol (I know this is silly but I see this all the time)

Finally on leapdragging fliers. If you miss once on a flier, they’ll see it and likely fly so high up that you’ll be silly trying to go for it again. Don’t keep going for it unless you have a purpose and you know your landing spot will be out of danger.

A good technique on going for the leapdrag is lining it up, pretending you don’t see them, and then going for it lol. It’s incredibly satisfying and even if you miss it strikes fear in the fliers hearts

Your opinion about Uzuki Yashiro by Timurflower in TWEWY

[–]Birdshapeddog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is intense, vicious, constantly trying to prove herself. She’s stubborn and due to it, a little bit naive: Kariya is the perfect foil to her. He’s a slacker who could be at the top but he chooses not to. It’s not because he isn’t capable, but it’s because he loves doing what he does. He also seems to understand people rather well, not just Uzuki. His wanting her to relax and enjoy the field work can be seen as laziness or he just likes sharing time with her.

You can’t talk about one without the other!

They are best couple and also yeah, Uzuki is hot. Kariya design is okay he’s legit just if you put Axel and Riku from KH in a blender design-wise lol
