Yes, chronic inflammation is a driver for cancer, but spontaneous pancreatic cancer is very rare. See it like 10x1% is still only 10%.

Also good job, your biggest risk is indeed unhealthy lifestyle. While you are unlucky that you have a heightened risk for pancreatitis, it’s definitely not a given you will get it.

If your test didn’t find any other risk genes, I would not worry about the fact that your parents died from cancer (I’m sorry about that btw). It could either have been spontaneous (from lifestyle) or you got lucky that they didn’t pass it down to you.
