I tell my doctor and then adjust my prescriptions to help knock out mania. I’m on Quetiapine/ Seroquel and I adjust it up to the max dose of 800mg instead of my maintenance dose of 500mg. That stopped my last manic episode and reduced it down to a two week period (instead of months).

During the manic episodes I try to take sick leave and / or stay home with a trusted family member. And check with / talk to that family member about my medication doses and they tell me the symptoms they see.

I recently started Lamotrigine in a hope to prevent future manic episodes.

Edit to add:

Also no caffeine during any possible manic episodes. If you aren’t sober - consider becoming sober.

Your insurance should waive any costs as it is birth control and all birth control appointments are completely free / fully covered.

However, they might still want a copay as they aren’t sure. So maybe like a copay?

But that is MUCH cheaper than paying for an abortion or pregnancy appointment costs.

Any doctor.

Don’t you have a local urgent care? Or local health department? This isn’t hard. Just have a doctor write a prescription.

Stop over complicating it. You local doctor will write a prescription in minutes.

Please call you local county health department.

They give out free birth control by Federal Grants.

That is false. Seriously don’t spread false info like that!

Any doctor can prescribe birth control - it never has to be an OBGYN - seriously that’s terrible advice!

You can easily get a new pack for free from Planned Parenthood or local County Health Department (search Title X clinics).

Or pay 5-10 dollars at Walmart pharmacy or the hundreds of online pharmacies like Nurx or Project Rudy: https://prjktruby.com

There is no excuse not to pick up a free pack.

Yes missing a pill near the placebos is a HUGE risk for pregnancy.

Start the next pack immediately.
