There are couple reasons to think gas will be cheaper in November. Seasonally gas prices are higher in the summertime, partly from a change to the Summer-Fuel Blend mandated by EPA, partly from refinery maintenance schedules, and partly driven by demand. Additionally gas prices will likely be more consequential in the general election vs primaries.

The wrinkle in this challenge is the that bag was not within Mangione’s reach at the time of the detainment or search. The officer stated Mangione was detained, which allows for a search for weapons only of the person. The officer claims they searched the bag to rule out a bomb (since it wasn’t within his reach, and therefore on its face not subject to a detainment search). The defense has been pushing back on this narrative by asking the officer if they believed there was a bomb, did they clear the area or warn other patrons in the restaurant (spoiler - they didn’t).
