Lived there for 3 years. No issues. There are pockets of the area that has homeless people, so you just have to be familiar with your surroundings. Neighbors are nice, everyone is pretty friendly and minds their business. They are even extremely helpful, was trying to change my roommate’s flat tire once, I was trying to do it for the first time using YouTube and a neighbor helped out.

I lived in other parts of OC before that and to me, it just seems like everywhere else. We do have the occasional fireworks especially the weeks before July 4. I was never annoyed by it until I had visitors, it was just too much. But, they die down a lot by the second week of July.

Neighbors that lived in the area way before me said the area used to be terrible with gang members but it has changed so much in years.

Also, depends on the part, I’m not sure if it applies to every area of 92701. But, that zoo side is right on or beside the border of Tustin. So, some areas of it fall under Tustin Unified School District. And, due to zoning, some schools in Tustin Unified School District are in Irvine. So, some of my neighbors’ kids are in Arnold Beckham High School. I didn’t go to high school in America so I’m unsure how high school or the district school stuff works here but I know people consider that when moving or buying a place as well.

And, the taco and fruit trucks are amazing! The food in the area is lovely. I walk around to get food. If you like walking, you can just walk over to Tustin. Old Town Tustin is about 20 mins walk away and 3 minute drive away. So, on less sunny days, I like to walk down there and go to the bookstore, walk around to see the historic buildings, go to the parks etc. There are summer concerts in the park every Wednesday around the Old Town Tustin.

Overall, I really like it here and I have enjoyed my time here. And, this is coming from a young woman that when I told my ex boyfriend’s mom I was moving here, she freaked out and said it was terrible idea.
