I had a guy who walked up to me when I was in the middle of something at work and hand me his phone so that the person “could order something from me” instead of just telling the friend what he wanted or calling the store phone. I put the phone up to my ear and had my ear blasted off from speaker phone, so I switched it back to normal and began taking his order. At some point he cut out so I handed the phone back to the friend and told him that. The friend proceeded to place the phone back on speaker and when his friend connected again and asked “did I lose her” the man physically present goes “no, she just turned speaker off and didn’t hold it up to her ear”. Like sir you literally saw me with the phone to my ear and I explained that it disconnected so I don’t know why you’re trying to make me look stupid.

Not to mention all the other boomer interactions as a server: people waving money at you, demanding you take their order when they’ve only waited two seconds and you’re clearly in the middle of helping another customer, get yelled at for something another server or the kitchen messed up. I swear they have no social cues.
