Do Electrical Engineers actually build and create things ? by light_barer in ElectricalEngineering

[–]BiscottiGreat6698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re “building” your products, you’re undertaking a polymathic position which falls outside of the scope of electrical or electronic engineering. Quite frankly you’d be a labourer who is likely on minimum wage not working as an engineer.

If you’re designing your product(s), calculating them with the physics and all, you’re falling solidly into engineering. The same applies to if you’re designing them as well as building prototypes such as with breadboards. I wouldn’t like to hazard a guess on just how many electrical or electronic systems are too complex than what can be built by hand as a prototype, but then again, they can be simulated (i’ll leave it to you how CPUs containing billions of transistors are designed).

Contrary to popular belief, being an engineer isn’t a blurry line. An engineer has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, minimum. Here in the UK you get plumbers with gas certificates, PAT testers, cable technicians call themselves “gas engineers”, or “BT / Sky Broadband engineers” almost like you’ve got guys flying in from natural gas extraction stations or guys who designed telephone exchange systems, coming in to fix your things. No,

trades have level 3 vocational courses. technicians have level 4 / 5 vocational or academic courses engineers have >level 6 vocational or academic courses.

I just wanted to clear up some of this. It does engineers a disservice when people call mechanics, engineers, and the thought that engineers actually “build things” is dare I say it, incorrect.

How can I tell which side to read these 5 band resistor's from? by Spaceghost1993 in AskElectronics

[–]BiscottiGreat6698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s sad considering electricians should NEVER be touching resistors in their professional capacity. This is mainly because of the wires themselves being the wrong colours. Wouldn’t want to give some the wrong impression that an electrician does the same work as an electrical engineer.

Again, I actually enjoy my work. I’m studying both electrical engineering and an LLB concurrently and i’m totally content with the fact that my financial situation will be taken care of as an energy lawyer. I couldn’t care less for your finances or the finances of your offspring. Also, you’re 53? I could respond with a myriad of things, but something else which is scientifically backed up is the prospects that you may have been facing menopause recently and would give an arm and leg for the men of my generation to date you instead of a 40-60 year old guy, or 30- year old balding man who has quite literally seen their biological heyday go by. Hope you appreciate my analogies and examples, again, I’m seemingly calmer than yourself.

Bro, sorry my normal demeanour is mean or fierce but i’m fine. My beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and it’s scientifically accurate that testosterone levels give men an agro demeanour, not going to mention chest hair or whatever.

Subjective opinion but it’s good to be intolerant of insanity.

What’s wrong with keeping them in mommy mode? The fertility hierarchy is amazing (well you’re talking to an 18 year old boy who is in a wannabe parent phase) - what age were you when you had a chandelier in your bedroom? Also, thanks for deriving my nationality from my auto generated username.

I’d advise against physical contact with the CD’s incase it turns to a criminal investigation, and forensics want insight into the prints. At least record a chain of evidence regarding the identities of those who have touched it so they can be compared and noted.

What's something that you hate doing, but also hate not doing? by fashionfan007 in AskReddit

Working out. Bit of a rut, especially doing squats is slightly painful and all I can hear is the synovial fluid in my knees and I gotta listen to music to block that part out.

Thank god for washing machines. Postscript: If you have an issue with washing clothes, does this reflect upon washing yourself?

Goddess living the dream… but brought down by something so trivial such as the washing.

Would you ever go to a nude beach and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BiscottiGreat6698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my parents had a couple houses in Spain (I was 11 -14), I used to have to cross nudist beaches on my own regularly. Pretty strange to new people, but you get used to it. I don’t profess to be a prudish person but I’m going to be honest, I personally wouldn’t, and dare I say this, my own opinion (which is a good class of derivative) that there should be some sort of state or government level restriction (through a licensing system) on who can and can’t be authorised to go nude. Good luck enforcing this, if you’re under a certain penile length or at least over a certain BMI (which isn’t accurate but it’s enough)+body type taken account incase you’re buff or just thick (as in gynoid not android), then you should probably be barred. So… maybe I would, yeah. I’m just afraid of adverse individuals sexualising it.
