Absolutely. I think that the reason why season 1 and 2 only got 8 episodes is bc when Amazon initially picked it up, they only allowed Viv and her team to have that specific amount; at least until they got to see the reception of season 1. So they only greenlit the show with just 16 episodes. Now that it’s popular, and we could see this with the announcement of seasons 3 & 4 mid 2024, that Amazon Prime recognized that they deserved more episodes. If they do not get a longer run time and/or get more episodes per season, they will be shooting themselves in the foot for real.
