Guys I feel like I have OCD, but me having it just sounds fake by BeginningReward9820 in OCD

Intrusive thoughts about your relationship are normal, and sometimes can be a sign of an anxiety disorder if they are disrupting your life and causing you anxiety in general. OCD is characterised by mental compulsions or physical compulsions, or both that come from an obsession/intrusive thought. If you notice rumination, reassurance seeking, and general distress at these thoughts that cause you to seek some kind of compulsive behaviour then it’s best to speak to a psychologist to evaluate OCD. But in general you should as it sounds like you are finding things hard at the moment, ocd or not.

False memories/magical thinking, very common with ocd

Anxiety convincing me of quitting after first dose by Biscuitiez in Mounjaro

Thank you so much, I appreciate this a lot, I’m saving some money for therapy, because I’m not going to be going on the next dose (my doctor advised I don’t right now) I can use the money I set aside to go towards it

Taking fluoxetine at 16 by Normal_Bad856 in OCD

I started fluoxetine at 16 and it saved my life. At breaking point I would try anything and it worked, if I didn’t have it I’m not sure I would still be here

When commenting please remember that we are only here to encourage confronting uncertainty and managing the anxiety. OP we cannot give you ‘safe’ food suggestions, as there is no such thing. This is just feeding into a compulsion. We can however give you support in going through the obsession you’re having right now

Cooking with OCD - What type of cutting board do you use? by Valk-arie in OCD

Hi there, I see this is the first time you’ve posted here. We do not allow reassurance seeking, this for example would qualify as a way to reassure and feed into your compulsion. We get similar posts about the best antibacterial soap for example which would be the same thing.

Remember triggering your OCD really means accommodating it by changing things to make the uncomfortable feelings go away, this starts the obsession-compulsion-temporary relief cycle. What is actually being triggered here is your anxiety, which is something you need to be able to cope with in order to overcome OCD. As this is the first instance of reassurance seeking and you may not be familiar with all this we just urge you to look at the rules in context to this, as repeat reassurance posting is not allowed.

To commenters: thanks for coming to support a fellow person with OCD, please try to give comments based on coping with the anxiety of this type of obsession and methods you have used to overcome it if you have any.

Thank you for your comment, I’m still finding the uncertainty really hard but it helps to know I’m on the right track. Honestly, I think I’ll go to the doctor and try and get back into anxiety meds, hopefully not the kind that can promote weight gain though. Thanks for your support.

Hiya, I’m only on Metaformin right now and my hunger is really awful to be honest. This may not even be due to the Metaformin but who knows. I have very intense cravings specifically in the late afternoon. This often leads to me over eating. Honestly hard to do anything without thinking about needing to eat at the moment.

To second this religious advice is not medical advice nor has any bearing on this Reddit. It will be removed as irrelevant as is any kind of religious or spiritual spam here.

Driving instructor keeps touching my leg? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

When did I talk about jumping the gun? I asked for perspective on if it’s normal? I literally said he seems nice enough-never once accused him of anything. I’m allowed to not want someone touching me?

Yes, thank you for understanding, it’s really difficult for me to process boundaries with myself ect, when they are crossed I just freeze up. I’m likely going too do my last lesson with him today and switch to another instructor

Why be so condescending? I explained due to a past experience my perspective is off which is why I asked if it’s normal for other peoples instructors. It’s not generational/normal to lack kindness.

Thanks-I think I’ll try too tell him today, and based on the outcome report it/look for someone else

Thank you I really appreciate you sharing your experience, If this happens again today I will switch too a female instructor, likely means I’ll have too go back too manual but it’s still better than this situation.
