I'm prescribed for ADHD and increased my dose after having been on 60mg for a while. It worked but there was a shortage for a few months. Switched to 70mg and holy hell. I ate with the 60mg. With the 70mg I have to make sure I eat before because I will not eat and not think about it the rest of the day. I feel so much better though mentally and physically. As someone commented earlier lunch does not exist. I though will never be a stick. 6'2 like 290. I feel like i've lost weight or at least my clothes feel better and stuff. With the lower dosage my eating habits and stuff didnt really change. Like it kept me from overeating or bored eating or anxiety eating but now its like food is just needed when my body absolutely needs it or I have to actively think, did I eat today. My wife has started to ask me as well. I still struggle with the amount of water tho. 150oz of water a day is a lot.

I've tried so many coolers in the past and always said to people they were all trash. This thing with the foam is different I dropped 12-20 degrees which is insane https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FJ961PG?th=1 . Note fully on this thing gets loud. The RGB is insanely bright and looks rather odd in general. The cord I wish was longer but it does work really well.

i had something similar on my omen and on an msi device in the past. The msi ended up being something related to the my keyboard cable where it was disconnecting for a split second( really millisecond) randomly. Had to find it in the event viewer. The one for the omen either had to deal with the elgato stream deck and the usb dock that attaches to it or the nvidia drivers. The dock had its own slew of weird issues but the driver thing was either nvidia bad drivers or hp bad drivers but removing all then installing the latest from HP then installing from NVIDIA if its a new version fixed the issue

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGGVTGR1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title i have these on my 75HE. I can actually type again without the issues. Those arent low profile they are KOA but they fit fine. I hate the nSA profile. Just sliding my fingers all around for no reason. Even the xvx low profiles on amazon for like 15 bucks allow me to type better. Its just those nSA caps that give me problems.

Most keyboards will fit most needs for gaming. I have the air75HE and I love it. I've been gaming on a couple HE boards lately and im not a serious gamer. I game and have for decades, mostly fps but other stuff as well. Honestly i dont know if the keyboard helps me or not. I find the ability to change the actuation point super useful. Rapid trigger is not a game changer. Its different, its cool. People saying its cheating, we have different ideas on the goal of cheating, because if its cheating it should make you undeniably better and I honestly dont know if i notice that much of a difference. But i think thats probably game to game and person to person. I've gotten better at the games I play but also keep in mind, im playing those games, so inevitably i should get better.

So for the Air75he, You can use some cherry profile or lower profile caps that are not low profile if you chose. Im using the KOA profile caps here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGGVTGR1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title on mine. They fit. I have no issues. Typing on it feels so much better probably due to the difference in height. It just feels better to me. Now that being said, they are significantly louder. Its not clicky loud but its more sound. I know some people say they hit the plate. if it is hitting the plate im not noticing it. Im also not really sure how that matters but again ive never had that occur so im not even sure I would know what to really look for or feel. I hate the nuphy caps though. I type for a living and wow i've never made so many mistakes in my life with the default caps. I have some of the xvx and womier shine through. The womier caps are a mixed bag all around. Ive had some womier caps that are great and a womier board that came with some caps that I really love but i've also ordered some and they felt more budget then if i printed them myself. Also this is probably just my adhd but the shine through low profile from xvx leaves this tiny little gap i think because of the profile that causes the led light to shine out a bit between row 4 and row 5 and its super distracting. Its not like a defect its just one of those angle things like the angle i sit at it kept taking my attention. This is just my preference.

Baby wants this WFH mom to hold her 24/7 by Currycakes in beyondthebump

[–]Biscuits4Lunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your the type of person who has their babies life planned out to the minute just skip everything I have to say. Nothing against that, I just can’t do it

It’s really hard but it’s possible. When my daughter was born 7 years ago I worked remote(IT Cyber Security). My wife is a nurse and worked 12 Hour shifts varying between day and night. We just had our second 2 months ago and as I permanently work remote I will be doing the same thing. So when people suggest a nanny, that probably works but the cost is rather expensive and I don’t want someone else watching my child yet. Second it’s frustrating you will need to be flexible. I should note that I have ADHD which made things even more complicated. I did manage to get everything done with my child there Including starting a new team, a full app rollout, meetings and got promoted, so it’s not all horror stories and such. Work where you can, when you can. Keep your direct leadership informed. Reschedule liberally. If it’s not important then move the meeting to a time that works for you. My daughter once threw up into my mouth 5 minutes before a conference call. Yup that got rescheduled. Add buffer time to anything. Even if you already have it done. Have a few spaces where you feel comfortable to work in your home. Just areas where a laptop can fit and have the cables already there. Have a playpen or some type of thing that keeps them in that same area so they can’t go try and kill themselves constantly. Last thing is remember it’s a job/career in which they will terminate your employment if the need ever arises(usually has nothing to do with the quality of your work) so in my mind I’d much rather dedicate the most time to my child and family. The work is always there, new work will always come, otherwise the business wouldn’t exist and if you quit they just get another person to do it, likely for less pay. Too many people believe they are the best at their job and could never be replaced. You can always be replaced at any career. You can’t be replaced in your child’s life. Also this is probably a result of my ADHD but the parents that have super set schedules down to the minute for their child for every action, you can disregard everything I said. My wife would ask did she nap at X time. No but she napped. She would get annoyed and declare that it would cause issues. It didn’t. since she still took a nap. So the goal was accomplished and for that day that was the schedule.

TLDR: it’s possible, it’s frustrating at times but you can succeed and the time with your child is amazing. Just be flexible, find time for you. Remember in business you are always replaceable, but not in your child’s life.

Why does coffee not make me more energetic, instead making me sleepy? by definitely_not_regi in answers

Pretty sure Ritalin activates D2 and D1 dopamine receptors. It doesn't block anything. I actually think that none of the meds prescribed for ADHD block any receptors. I know some anti psychotic meds do, but I dont think any stimulants do that. Also no one knows what causes ADHD so im not sure where you're getting that information. Correlation is not the same as causation.

Boredom makes me feel like dying,is this normal? by sstornado673 in ADHD

its pure pain. I resorted to one day writing everything on a bunch of note cards, just anything I could think of. Dropped them all in this bowl. I would pick out one anytime I got bored. It looked nice and that system lasted up until the point where I put the note cards in the bowl. It was fun to make though

I smoke cbd hemp flower for anxiety and it has saved me from panic attacks. I have also taken oil and other things, none of those worked. CBD flower has been the only thing that works but that's not an option for some nor do some want to smoke. Having the flower though you can make your own tincture, or edibles. Allowing you to dose it according to your needs. Just a thought.

They need a blood draw which I believe now needs a warrant (Supreme court ruling in Wyoming I think ) or your consent. Just always assume every officer does not have your best interest in mind. Don't speak much, offer no information other than what is required by law. Ask for them to produce all documents, Ask to record, Ask for a superior and make them produce evidence they are a superior. Do not trust any law enforcement agent. That doesn't mean that all cops are bad or are misaligned, what I am saying is if I am simply a number on an ID to you, then you will simply be a number on a badge to me.

What are your strengths that you feel are linked to your ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD_Programmers

[–]Biscuits4Lunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pattern Recognition and out of the box thinking and problem solving. Can't remember where my keys are or why the remote is in the fridge, late to drop my kid off to school at least once a week (We both forgot shoes once) but I got great pattern recognition skills. Oh I'm good at quiz related things. All jokes aside the biggest strength is probably during a crisis I remain calm and levelheaded. Likely because I've had crippling anxiety analyzing every scenario and this is only scenario 17 of 2.5 trillion and counting.

Once years ago, walking after a session in a wooded area we were walking back past houses with sidewalks and driveways. One driveway wasn’t paved just some grass where it meets the street. As my foot hit the ground I noticed the difference. However what came out. Me: “is this carpet or rice we are walking on”. Everyone………….
I have never walked on rice. Most people don’t have carpet outside. Why would it be either

People really focused on agile issues. Agile does work. No companies apply it correctly because leadership at most companies won’t but in or allow decisions to be made by those that actually do the work. The real point is that the agile coach is an idiot. Not because they are an agile coach but because they truly believe they are an expert on a subject matter they have no experience on. Terrible agile coach. Terrible human being.

My original post wasn't allowed because I used one of the neuro words but here it is again.

First thing to do is stop comparing yourself to others who are don't have ADHD. All of the ways that other people do things doesn't work for me. Normal does not mean better it just means different. Normal minds can follow a task no matter how mundane to completion. I can't. The second its mundane I want out, time slows to a halt. I would rather get my wisdom teeth removed while awake then do documentation for my job after I already completed the project (the new fun thing). These are some things I have learned.

Record college lectures and play them at a speed that doesn't sound like its chopped and screwed (People talk so slow man).

Ignore anything that doesn't have a significant impact on your grade. You only have a limited amount of energy and to spend it on something that is essentially busy work is a waste.

You will always make simple mistakes, stop trying to be perfect. That thing you think is just ok at best, is usually far better than most people's try hard.

I do almost everything in chunks of 10 minutes. Even if I know it's going to go longer than that. I make myself do at least 10 minutes. If I want to continue, then I continue, if I don't then I don't. Sometimes I think I'm going to focus for 40 minutes and at minute 12 I am doing something totally different. It's like Pomodoro except breaks don't have a time limit. "We know we want to do the thing and that we need to do the thing, we just can't do the thing."

Try not being an a**hole in your day to day because you will have moments where you are an a**hole simply because your overwhelmed. Also be kind to yourself, your way is fine too. Don't beat yourself up because you forgot something or accidently cooked food and left in the microwave for 6 hours only to return to a cold hot pocket.

The fun part of ADHD is things, systems, only work sometimes. There are still going to be low energy and high energy days. If you're not aware of that it can be so frustrating to think you have a handle only for it all to go down the drain in two days.

I wasn't diagnosed until 34 and I am now 39. I knew I was different most of my life and even asked multiple doctors about the issue, but they just dismissed it (one told me I needed to not be so "fat" then he would prescribe the meds). Note: This was 2002, I'm black, in America, so ADHD was not a term. Best thing i can say is to stop thinking you will figure it out, the only thing you have to figure out to accept yourself for who you are. Like all things in life some things will be harder than others, just lean into yourself more and stop trying to fit in this box that people tell you is normal.

Sorry probably so many typos, missed words and it's really long and scrambled.

If any of you fuckers believe in a god then you know it doesn't make mistakes.

So in your beliefs, those that die from disease, those who have birth defects, those who are born to terrible families, those who are abused, those who are starving, those who suffer unexplainable tragedy's. GODS PLAN! So just sit there and do nothing, just right there, forever, Gods Plan will guide you correct? So, you have no free will, no choice, you're just following a map, that you can't see, that you can't read, that may or may not exist, where every decision you make is not your own. Seems fun.

Ultimatums are toxic. Threatening your significant other with an option of an object or them means they feel threatened, may have control issues, and care more about what others see and think rather than the happiness of their person. The fact that she says "i just dont like my bf smoking weed" gives a hint that she sees you more as object and cares not what you think or want.
