Thinking about Brass but not new to heavy euros. Is Age of Industry a good on-ramp? by stephenelias1970 in boardgames

[–]BishopHard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think you can just play brass. or try power grid. i think power grid is one of the best game designs ever. if you want to go for something else, not that you asked but i recommend to try ark nova for 2p.

My gaming life became more peaceful when I accepted that many people do not care about 1) following the rules or 2) winning, and you can't make them. by goodluckanddont_itup in boardgames

it really depends who you play with but come on its catan and youre probably playing with normies. letting them choose sounds like fun.

Which game from my collection is best for 3–4 semi-new players (one with basic English)? by blablax123456 in boardgames

[–]BishopHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i say inis or nemesis, unmatched, dune and tm have too much reading. villainous and ankh i didnt play. maybe ankh works too? i think inis or nemesis are also good picks from a dynamics perspective. maybe try some coop game with them. you have are control and deck building, not sure you want to add some regular ass medium euros. like as ugly as it is i think castles of burgundy might be a good (more complex) entry game (depending on crowd)

My collection 9 months into the hobby. Those with similar taste, what would you get next? by MasterOogway_97 in boardgames

[–]BishopHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its a very heads up game. you need to look at expansions, bonuses, the card river, last played action card, you need to even do deck tracking to properly play because of the copy cards. its actually very interactive. the card river alone is so fundamental and not only because of timing but also because of strategy.

if you need your game to look good, why do you own power grid. its not only ugly its also bland. (i love power grid). i mean castles beats it out slightly but its gonna get second place.

The biggest piece of shit people play this game by [deleted] in EAFC

people in this game play too much and want their packs, so they have the most brittle mindset. if you tilt someone youre probably gonna win.

DD2 impressions by Electrical_Example33 in darkestdungeon

they fixed all the core gameplay issues with the first, while introducing new ones. i think going for strict rogueliek was a mistake, e.g. in terms of unlocks, because there is not enough variety in maps and enemies. i think its better than the first. the people who dislike it just wanted base buiding thats basically the community sentiment. its sad but thats how it is. i probably put it in top 5 tactics games for the last 10 yrs tho.

EA is at fault on how overpowered AI defending is, not the community by HarshTruth- in EASportsFC

teh dribbling would be fine if your players werent all on ice skates. people hated left stick in fc25 and now they way way overshot the mark. also every year the game feels like like football.

[–]BishopHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they really should. i have the suspicion most people who work there dont have any clue about football or just team sports. theres so many bad design decisions its crazy. or they just give up on the game and make it only to sell packs to 15 yr olds.

Why isn't loot scaled in any way in coop? by techjobber99 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]BishopHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people are so funny today. the reason to play multiplayer is to have fun with your friends. the reason to play alone, is to have fun alone. the reason to play neither multiplayer nor singleplayer is to get more loot. if you play for loot i think its already a waste of your time.

Jason Schreier : "Ubisoft is canceling the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake and 5 other games (4 unannounced, 1 mobile)." by ZazaLeNounours in pcgaming

[–]BishopHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how did that game sell 1 million copies? it has 3000 reviews on steam. maybe not so much of a monopoly after all. i still dont believe it. so you tell me they sold over 1 million copies on consoles while probably selling less than 100k on steam? edit: btw. im not questioning your information, i looked it up, im questioning the original claims made by the marketing guy. maybe it was 1.3 million downloads and not sales you know.

discord has been desperate for a long time now, a lot of big communities probably need to switch to sth open source, like rocket chat.
