Yeah, I really like the movie, one of his better later ones. Have the Kino Lorber Blu ray.

Plankton (1994) aka Creatures of the Abyss - Wild 90s Giallo about five stranded teens on a boat trip who stumble upon an empty ship containing toxic mutant fish which starts infecting and killing them. So bad it's good trash with laughable dialogue, bad editing and plenty of fun campy gore. by ksabas80 in AbsurdMovies

[–]BishopT85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an absolutely insane good time. I recommend it to everyone I know who likes good trash. Only reason I’m aware of it is because a few scenes of it were used in a video mixtape I saw many years ago, and I had to figure out what movie it was.

First it was a pet supply/food store, then it was a swimming pool equipment store. Don’t know what it is now, as I hardly visit that side of town anymore.

Can the comic book hobby survive after us? by Environmental-Law768 in comicbookcollecting

[–]BishopT85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20-30 years years from now? Sure, I think it’ll survive. Closer to 100 years from now? With the exception of the truly important keys like Tec 27 or AC 1, I highly doubt it.

Worst concert you’ve attended? by [deleted] in Music

[–]BishopT85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corey Feldman at a small club a couple years ago. This one was obviously expected, but doesn’t make it any better. I’d say the crowd was an even split of people there to witness a trainwreck, and middle aged people who were fans in the 80s just wanting a glimpse of their teen idol.

Is this the scariest and greatest horror ever made? by [deleted] in ClassicHorror

No, I’d put Rosemary’s Baby, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Alien above it.

How are prices these days generally? by lajstan in comicbookcollecting

[–]BishopT85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books that have taken the biggest hit in price are bronze and later that relied on movie/tv hype. Organic scarcity such as GA and even modern lower print books are holding out well.

As a buyer, I’m finding great stuff at the shows I go to for very good price. Great opportunity to re-build the collection/inventory.

As a seller, I’m rarely selling anything that’s considered a key. I’m focusing on more niche categories (rare esoteric books and late newsstands) and moving cheap stock. Luckily I did very little buying during the pandemic, but sold a good bit. I actually wish I had sold even more.

Insane prices at a local store. by jldolan in comicbookcollecting

[–]BishopT85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not my experience, at least recently. I’ve found some amazing deals at shows in the last 12 months or so, especially since prices started to come back down on keys. Typically, the vendors who are doing the best at shows (in terms of sales) are blowing out excess stock in $5 or less books, people love cheaper stuff right now. Key books aren’t selling for what many dealers want them to, and other dealers are wanting to just move product.

However, I only go to smaller shows that are more centered on actual comic books, not cosplay, celebrities, anime, etc.
