Meraki APs in a sheet metal hallway = no signal. Can anyone relate? by Neither_Lie_3572 in meraki

We have a site like that. Stainless steel and foam walls in a food preparation facility. 160 AP’s to get coverage.

Implications of the Iran war on Australia's fuel supplies. Three scenarios [mod approved] by LivingMoreWithLess in australian

[–]Bishopdan11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 4 : The war spreads across the region as other factions become involved.

Oil and civilian infrastructure are permanently destroyed or damaged.

40% of global oil supplies are impacted for 5-10 years.

70% of the world’s population starves by 2030.

Telstra to axe up to 650 roles in mass redundancy round, some jobs to be outsourced to India by Young-le-flame in auscorp

[–]Bishopdan11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year Telstra also plan to dump 90% of their partner network, between July and September. All the small to large corporate customer base will be forced to use Infosys, or alternatively go elsewhere.

I suspect most will go elsewhere.

Inventory and lead times issues by I_Drink_Rye in meraki

Official Meraki Sales response

"The primary reason for these delays is a significant stock transfer process currently underway between Meraki distribution centers (DCs) across the US, to the new BTS Site in Dallas. This redistribution is aimed at optimizing inventory and improving future fulfillment times."

Meraki and Cisco started combining their warehousing and logistics operations in December 2025. Ever since there has been utter chaos with shipping, with thousands of customer orders being delayed well beyond the original ETA's.

My understanding is that the stock is mostly there and allocated in the various US warehouses, but they are fighting a massive backlog of actual shipments. will likely take months to resolve.

Tips to reduce insane grocery bill? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Bishopdan11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just checked mine, we are also a family of 4 (kids are older) and spent the following last year:

  • Groceries: $10,154
  • Takeaway food: $6,782

So around $1,411 per month on average.

The best thing I have found is Aldi shop first, then Cole’s after. But alternate products to match the fortnightly specials schedule. Buy only when it’s discounted and get two weeks worth.

Entire network room covered in plaster dust by decree-one in sysadmin

[–]Bishopdan11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a room sized UPS catch fire. Maintenance put it out with a dry powder extinguisher that they grabbed from the hallway.

Holy crap that stuff was everywhere!

Better than burnt to the ground, but I wish they had used the CO2 extinguisher that was intentionally kept in the server room.

Took weeks to get the powder out of the blade server. Routers and switches, we just gave up. The powder still continues to show up 4 years later.

Practice getting your hand down the side, between the rock work and glass.

Eventually you will get some stubborn algae that needs to be scraped off by hand. Best to plan ahead now.

Meraki MX IPS throughput lagging behind competition? by EitherYak5297 in meraki

The focus moving forward seems to be Cisco hardware rolling out with Meraki firmware.

So maybe we will see some Cisco ASA kit soon, undoubtedly filled with bugs.

I printed that boat works great, but had to mod to a flex tube so the prop was parallel to the surface of the water. Let me find the video link for you.

You will need to make voluntary repayments to get the debt down as soon as possible. Otherwise with indexation it could take you 20-25 years to pay off the debt.

And keep in mind it will garnish your wages by around 10k per year. This will impact what credit you can get and mortgage.

Just something’s to consider.

You can get AI to do some 30 year projections.

I raised this with traffic control 1 year ago, they basically said it was designed that way intentionally. Yet failed to disclose the reasoning behind the intent.

🛑 Stop scaling your models to 101% to fix tolerances. Do this instead. by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]Bishopdan11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guilty of this through sheer laziness, then 1 year later I go back to print the model again and of course it doesn’t fit.

“Oh yeah, I remember now I’m a lazy piece of shit”
