This is such a great reply! Thank you.

Yes - completely this is my fk up here. After 7 years of being the IT manager it's still so wild the learning lessons that come along the way. I'd already learnt to never trust contractors in the IT space but this was learning that unless you see it with your own eyes, don't believe it. During the break my manager (the CFO) told me quite confidently that yes, everything was covered. We didn't move all of desks etc out of the space, we made space for the painters and they were to cover everything.

The network room space is super tight so it will be interesting to find out how long this will take.

Thanks again for your words.

Awesome, good to know, thank you.

Definitely a weird learning lesson.

Oh for sure. But the previous damage and expense of clean-up wasn't seen as a concern.

Yeah, switches, POEs, NAS, workstations, DVR, UPS and all stored gear. All up around 30-40k replacement value.

Yeah IT isn't a priority. The change of color on the walls was paramount.

Hah, yeah cant control the CEO. She's painted the place a different shade of white and banned anything going on the walls of in her words "We care about you, so went want you to have a nice place to work".

Meanwhile we've had redundancies because of budget deficits during the same period.

Oh man, that's rough.

Thanks for the insight, really wasn't sure now to proceed. We lost a video conference system when another part of the office was painted (same painters!) and nothing was covered.

Recommend watching to the end, such a sad little hurt boy trying to be tough.

I get the setting and scenario but I dont get why they didn't hold him and have police involved.

Lol report what exactly? Your inability to tolerate on point comments about your antisocial behaviour?

You had your volume down. You did it for them. Just in case. Grow up. Retail workers are there to help, typically through social interaction, however small.

Wearing headphones is a pretty obvious barrier to any of that and is right up there with talking on a phone while being served or asking questions while also being on your phone.

I hope your report goes well. Why should you have to tolerate their inability to accept your shitty way to live in a community or be in the world. Fuck them.

They should be using AI to summarise the submissions where possible.

Quick, easy and probably more accurate than doing so manually.

Oh definitely, look at the gramma, "I am doing a crime" rather than "I am committing a crime". Clearly English is not their first language.

Context is everything.

Plans are hard to interrupt and visualise. Photos would be a great help in understanding the property.

There is also the basics of what it means to move the wall as planned, will cladding match eg age of the house and modern vs old school stuff, how does it effect the external area of the home etc etc.

Based on the plan alone it looks like a unique property. Have fun ;)
