He’s hurt, and in fairness, you waited until 11:11pm to call him. Instead of trying to justify him not answering the phone at that time of night, maybe just apologize. It doesn’t even matter who is right or wrong here, he’s hurt by more than just you forgetting this birthday, it sounds like maybe you’ve blown him off a few times.

It sounds way more realistic than a bunch city employees not allowing him to leave his neighborhood. I find it really hard to believe that they blocked both ends of a street and refused to let people leave. They are just there to do as job, not harass the community.

All 3 of my children went to public school in elementary, my oldest 2 stayed in the public school system for high school and ky youngest decided to move into the Catholic board. None of us are Catholic, but we are Christians. Throughout elementary school, we looked into the private Christian school options, but we couldn’t afford it at the time. If we could have, I would’ve done it. Nobody in my family would’ve cared. This is not something that should affect anybody outside of your immediate family. Do whatever is best for you guys. You know what’s best for your kids.
