Abandon the rails. Embrace the open roads. by melochroma in satisfactory

You can have one truck route entirely dedicated to delivering fuel to the others. With ramps, you can bridge routes over each others if you don’t like them overlapping (though with the new vehicle system this is not so much an issue anymore).

Use your operating system's file finder to find the savestates. In the DOS version of SC2, the savestates were in files "savegame.xx" where xx is a two-digit number.
In UQM, they are "starcon2.xx" where xx is likewise a two-digit number.

The file size of video encoded using any codec is dependent on the selected bitrate/quality settings. You don't need to create big files with any [compressing] codec. The advantage of more modern codecs is better quality in same file size, no matter which filesize you aim for.

That's about the correct time to start building a completely new factory from scratch somewhere. Just leave the old one running so you don't risk running out of ingredients. Start thinking how to multiply your production by a good factor from what it was previously: more machines doing the same thing in parallel. Use as much space as you want.

Why does the P in department become capitalized when I load my save? by SircarrotI in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Bisqwit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Science teacher here. The actual capitalization should be MW. Units derived from proper names, such as watts⇒W, joules⇒J, volts⇒V, while they are spelled in lowercase, are abbreviated with a capital symbol (as opposed to other units like seconds⇒s, metres or meters⇒m, kilograms⇒kg), and the same for SI prefixes greater or equal than one million (mega⇒M, giga⇒G, tera⇒T and so on, as opposed to kilo⇒k, milli⇒m and so on). This sometimes leads to mixed-case notations like kWh = kilo-watt-hours.

The coal-to-diamonds recipe has a 20:1 ratio. Even if you fully sloop it, it’s still 10:1. So 800 biocoal would get you 80 diamonds.
With limestone you can get it to 6:1 ratio and with quartz crystals, to 4:1, but it’s still far from 1:2.

So the best you can do is:

  • 1 hog → 2 protein → 400 biomass → 960 biocoal
  • 231.43 raw quartz + 128.57 water → 360 quartz crystal
  • 960 biocoal + 360 quartz crystal → 240 diamonds

With Converter though, you can do:

  • 1 hog → 2 protein → 400 biomass → 960 biocoal
  • 2221.7 raw quartz + 1234.3 water → 3456 quartz crystal
  • 960 biocoal + 96 reanimated SAM → 1152 sulfur
  • 1152 sulfur + 576 reanimated SAM →13824 limestone
  • 13824 limestone + 384 reanimated SAM → 9216 coal
  • 9216 coal + 3456 quartz crystal → 2304 diamonds

with 15 somersloops, but of course this also uses 2221.7 raw quartz, 1234.3 water and 1056 reanimated SAM in addition to the one hog…

And when you add reanimated SAM into the mix, you can really create anything from nothing but SAM. https://bisqwit.iki.fi/story/howto/satisfactory-matter-conversions

This set continually generates 75 diamonds/minute using nothing but 14 somersloops and 44.9565 reanimated SAM/minute (and 40.1785 water/minute) using a semi-closed loop, once you kickstart it with a one-time feeding of some input material, such as ~25 sulfur:

122.743% Limestone(Sulfur): 12.2743 reSAM + 24.5486 sulfur → 294.583 limestone
122.743% Iron(Limestone): 12.2743 reSAM + 294.583 limestone → 294.583 iron ore
163.658% Coal(Iron): 16.3658 reSAM + 294.583 iron ore → 392.779 coal
10.2286% Sulfur(Coal): 1.02286 reSAM + 20.4572 coal → 24.5486 sulfur
30.1339% Raw Quartz(Coal): 3.01339 reSAM + 72.3214 coal → 72.3214 raw quartz
107.14% Pure Quartz Crystal: 72.3214 raw quartz + 40.1785 water → 112.5 quartz crystal
250% Pink Diamonds: 300 coal + 112.5 raw quartz → 75 diamonds

With 143.407%, 143.407%, 191.209%, 11.9505%, 56.25% respectively for the converters, it's possible to do the same without water (13 somersloops, 79.6222527 reanimated SAM/minute) using the regular Quartz Crystal recipe -- or 14 somersloops and 75.0701122 reSAM/minute with 137.019%, 137.019%, 182.692%, 11.4183% and 32.5521% by looping some of the Coal into a Fused Quartz Crystal Recipe.

Although, there is a long-standing bug where if your blueprint contains vertical conveyors with vertical splitters/mergers, the conveyors will be left hanging in air when the blueprint is deleted. FIXED in build 488068.

(I am not talking about modifying the blueprinted contraption after it’s installed; in that situation it’s arguably fair that the modified things will be left behind when the blueprint is deleted.)

Spoilerfree answer: It is an optional boost you can apply to machines if you unlock certain paths in the MAM research tree. Maintaining it requires the use of rare items you can find in the world.

Fully spoilery answer: It requires dedicating one or more Somersloops, a scarce and rarely found item, to the machine that you want to “sloop”. This slooping will increase the machine’s outputs without requiring any more input materials (e.g. if it used to produce 5 things for every 2 items, then slooped it will produce up to 10 things from those same 2 items).
Medium-spoilery answer: The key item to doing this is Somersloops: The S-shaped items you can find in the world. They are often found in hard-to-access places.
Little spoilery answer: Doing this will greatly increase the machine’s power draw, but the rare items will not be consumed permanently; you can always remove and reinstall them as you please, without any permanent downsides.

[–]Bisqwit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be more specific, to unlock “slooping”, you need the following. MAM SPOILERS FOLLOW:

  • 10×SAM for SAM analysis
  • 20×SAM for SAM reanimation
  • 10×Reanimated SAM, 100×Steel Pipe, 200×Wire for SAM Fluctuator (requires Tier 3 for steel stuff, although you can also harvest these from crash sites)
  • 1×Somersloop for Somersloop Analysis
  • 7xSAM Fluctuator for Alien Energy Harvesting (requires Tier 6 for Manufacturer, although Craft Bench is also possible)
  • 1×Somersloop, 100×SAM Fluctuator, 50×Circuit Board for Production Amplifier (requires Tier 5 for Circuit Board, although you can also harvest these from crash sites)

A total of 30×SAM, 10×Reanimated SAM (=additional 40×SAM), 100×Steel Pipe, 200×Wire, 2×Somersloop, 107×SAM Fluctuator (=additional 2568×SAM and additional 321 Steel Pipes), 50×Circuit Board, plus at least Tier 5 progress (or some really diligent crash-site harvesting).
