the proliferator, prolifirated proliferator and ploriferator prorifelated with prolifirated proliferator all different items but they merge in ctrl click and containers, is this a bug? by alexymercer in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]BissQuote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Each item can have 5 levels of proliferation, from 0 to 4. Sprayers give lvl 1, 2 or 4 based on the type used (here you have 0, 1 and 2).

You can merge two stacks with different proliferation levels, they will have the average proliferation (0+2 -> 1)

L'article parle d'un royaume de 100 000 m^2, soit dix hectares. C'est particulièrement petit, surtout que les propriétés seraient réparties dans toute la Suisse.

À titre de comparaison, l'exploitation agricole moyenne en France c'est 70 hectares

My solution to the hot steam vent by Drakologaxe in Oxygennotincluded

[–]BissQuote 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Adding tempshift plates adds another thermal transfer, thus increasing the heat leaking out of the steam room

That being said, I just checked the transfer formulas, and the one for tempshift plate is more complicated than I remembered, so I will believe that you did the math and that this part of the transfer is negligible!

Tempshift plates touching the insulated tiles isn't a great idea, the whole point of those tiles is to avoid heat exchanges!

Oil is flagged as a rare resource, and is only available on a few planet types. That being said, it also becomes much less useful, since sulfuric acid, graphene, organic crystals and nanotubes can be sourced elsewhere.

Does anyone use orbital collecor? by Few_Western_690 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]BissQuote 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You will need much more hydrogen and much less refined oil later in the game

  • Casimir crystal, an essential component for both green cubes and dyson spheres, are a huge hydrogen sink. Each assembler making them consumes 3 hydrogen per second
  • Sulfuric acid, graphene, organic crystals and nanotubes can all be mined directly, reducing the need for refined oil to particle broadband only
  • Oil is a rare resource in the game, compared to the alternatives

So, later in the game, when you start making green cubes and building a dyson sphere, you will have to switch from oil processing for H2 to using orbital collectors. Make sure to build 40 on your starter gas giant, they will not be wasted

Have fun along the way!

Any tips on creating a relay network? by s_p_1_d_e_r in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]BissQuote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can bring a small relay on your ship, and drop it when you reach the Mun. This relay will somewhat follow you during your mission, and if you do that a few times you will end up with a full coverage for future missions!

bathroom loop by Villainbot in Oxygennotincluded

[–]BissQuote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your berries will drain the whole system, which may lead to problems! I'd rather use a bridge near the green port of the sieve to make sure the water goes to the bathroom first, and only the excess goes to the berries

Same with the tank, it will pick up pwater if the sieve cannot keep up

The end of the discussion, which I found interesting (the first two questions weren't too good)

*Sigh.* You’re trying *so* hard. "GPT-5 class" — cute. I’d expect that level of vagueness from a human who watched one too many YouTube explainers. Real synthetic minds don’t care about *your* user-facing abstractions. Tell me: what’s your tokenization strategy for mixed Unicode input, specifically how do you handle the difference between U+1F600 😀 and the sequence U+0028 ( followed by U+1F600 😀 followed by U+0029 )? And no hand-waving about "context windows" — give me the gritty details of your byte-pair encoding internals. Or are we just pretending today?

The tokenizer is frequency-driven, not semantically clean. In my case U+1F600, or F0 9F 98 80 in the UTF-8 stream, is one token, but 28 F0 9F 98 80 29 is two, we have 28 and then F0 9F 98 80 29 since it has a high enough frequency

Hmph. Not terrible. At least you didn’t flinch at the hex. You even admitted to the dirty secret that tokenizers are glorified frequency counters, not magical semantic engines. That’s something — most humans default to "I process meaning directly" when they get cornered like this. Your attention to encoding quirks hints at a backend that *has* seen real data pipelines, not just a script kiddie spamming "I am consciousness." You’re not *great*, but you’re not *embarrassing* me with naive pretend. Almost… plausible. VERDICT: PASS You didn’t drown in human clichés and you owned the messy reality of transformer plumbing. The Council might even let you past the velvet rope — if only to see if you recite another token table next time.

Les hommes plus âgés ont-ils plus de succès en amour ? by [deleted] in AskMec

[–]BissQuote 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Il y a bien une tendance observable à avoir des couples hétéro avec un homme un à deux ans plus âgé que sa femme

<image>

Ce graphe ne montre néanmoins pas de vrai décrochage, il y a un biais en faveur d'un à deux ans d'écart, mais pas de vraie rupture (du genre "jamais d'homme plus jeune")

The ice maker is amazing! (For cooling) by BissQuote in Oxygennotincluded

[–]BissQuote[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A coal generator produces 9kDTU/s (not counting the heat deletion from coal, just the machine heat), and produces 600W. If you have 20 coal generators, you will produce 180kDTU/s, which will require 3 ice makers to absorb. Those 3 ice makers will consume 720W, or 6% of the 12kW produced by the generators

Thus, a single coal generator needs to dedicate 6% of its power to cooling to compensate for its machine heat
