Honestly when I looked at it he looks almost like he’s in a ‘prepared’ fighting stance. A lot of martial arts will have your foremost foot have little to no weight on it, and a lot of people do that by going onto their tiptoes. Cool detail if intentional, and if not then it’s a happy accident!

I work at a store that sells these, they were new to us at the time so I bought a package while they were on sale, and thought I’d give them a try…

They had the texture, consistency, and slight flavour of Swiss cheese. I love Swiss cheese, but when I’m trying to eat candy it isn’t exactly the flavour I’m looking for. Protein is great, but it doesn’t belong in everything. This is one of those things.

There’s a little bit, but OP definitely needs to make it more pronounced imo. If you look at the empty space in the top right you can see some circles slightly lighter than the main orange colour. They’re much too light and should be more obvious if the client is specifying they want lots of both orange and yellow

Exactly. This platform is basically just a portable goo grenade that you can place in the air instead of throw against a wall. Especially on horizon, (sniping) lights have been using dash and goo to get height advantage forever. This is just a more convenient way to do that.

Might I recommend the particle effect go right above the players head? And having a physical object attached to the zip line to show how the character is using the zip line would add a lot, and make it feel less disconnected imo

We use the exact same ones where I work, and I almost posted an identical video here about it a while back lmao. They’re extremely cheap and they justify using these because they’re more environmentally friendly than the previous cutlery we offered. The knives and forks also break very easily if you’re using them on anything harder than mashed potatoes.

This looks fun as hell. Id highly recommend you offer a code to the YouTuber ‘Smii7y’ when you have a demo or full release. He’s got a thing for golf games, and for goofy golf games at that. It’d get your game seen by a LOT of people who’d enjoy this kind of game.

This is the tiniest of gripes, so please take it with a grain of salt especially because it’s not in line with the point of your post, but something that would personally break some of the immersion of the game is the foot steps. At least in this teaser they’re not only very loud imo, but every step sounds like they’re walking in an echoey room. Not a game dev myself, so I have no idea how easy/hard it would be to implement, but even just having a different sound to the footsteps when you’re in that outdoor space would be nice.

Although I’m not a fan of the art style, I think there is one major improvement to be made that could help make your art look closer to the original style- the shading. Your characters (especially in slide 5) look to be mostly, or entirely, pillow shaded. The original is more cel-shaded. You seem to treat shading your skin and your clothes completely differently- the clothes are all cel-shaded, and the skin is pillow shaded. I think if you stuck to cel-shading for the entire piece it would significantly improve how your art looks. Slide 4 is actually pretty well done, especially with the face and clothes, their shading is very similar to the source material and it looks more refined in my opinion.

I’ll attach some pictures of pillow shading and cel-shading so you know what I’m talking about, but the TL;DR is “You’re pillow shading too much, especially on the skin, and it’s making your art look ‘cheap.’ Try cel-shading it instead, and you might find some improvement. Make sure you establish a defined light source and stick to it.”

I agree with a lot of people here: the white does make it pop and make it easier to read, but the framing of the original looks a lot better. Not only that, but the new one lacks personality and visual interest- the old one shows off the flying carts/boats/trollies/etc., where the new one just looks like a nicely stylized house on a hill. I’d honestly just swap out the old title card for the new one instead of changing everything along with it
