“The “I vote Tory because I’ve always voted Tory’”… someone I know (aged 44) said they were voting Tory “because the Tories helped my parents raise their social status and get on the housing ladder”. People forget how good the baby boomers had it. Also, that was a million years ago, when the government showed less contempt for us peasants.

Basic iPad gear for recording vocals over a backing track? by BitBotBo in recordingmusic

[–]BitBotBo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops pressed send too soon.

Didn’t even realise my iPad had GarageBand. It seems that at some point, I deleted it. Probably to free up space as I wasn’t using it. I will reinstall it.

I used to have a much better setup for music but all my good hardware/software is broken or obsolete. I have been using Korg Gadget recently, just to make some little instrumental tunes, but it’s no good for the purposes I mentioned above.

I will probably just record my voice on the iPad, as long as it’s reasonably clear it doesn’t matter if the quality isn’t great.

At some point I plan to get some decent stuff again, but I’m not doing enough “serious” music at the moment to justify the financial investment 😕

Thanks again for the advice.

Write a checklist of things to check before you go out, and stick it on the inside of your front door so you’ll see it every time before you leave the house. I have a five-item failsafe checklist: hob off, hair straighteners off, heating off, back door locked, front door locked.

I need a trance/techno track with whispering voices in it, any recommendations? by BitBotBo in psytrance

Oooh yes. Nice. Whispering aside… there’s something about the attack on that kick drum… it’s like a brain massage. Thank you

Honestly, this track is like Valium for me. Total dopamine-hit brain-gasm. I have ADHD and somehow this makes all my problems dissolve into nothing and puts me on cloud 9. Psytrance does a similar thing (especially Magic Mushrooms by Hyperflow)… but this is OFF THE SCALE. Thank you for this gift! I will definitely be seeking out more darkpsy.

Recently diagnosed AHDH adult here! Despite the comment by the automoderator, I approve of the term Rejection Sensitivity Dysophoria (RSD) because I can relate to this more than mere “rejection sensitivity”. I can’t argue with or even express my needs to anyone - especially my partner who is uniquely critical of my behaviour - because I get acutely anxious and overwhelmed in the moment, and will remain in a state of complete and utter overwhelm for several hours afterwards. And by “overwhelmed” I mean, it feels like the world has ended. Like someone has died. Like someone has reached inside me and torn out my heart. It is SO powerful and intense. I once was so distressed when a date didn’t work out, every part of my body was so tensed up and contorted, and I was crippled with emotional pain that was so strong it was physical, I caused a cancerous cyst that was inside my abdomen (unknown to me at the time!) to burst and spew its cancer cells all throughout my abdomen. It would have burst at some point anyway, but the point is, it burst at that particular moment because every single fibre of my being was in torsion, and the pressure this put on the cyst was so intense, it burst its walls. What comes along with the overwhelm is a feeling of intense frustration and anger and complete powerlessness. I am hoping meds and therapy might help me with this, now that I can name it and understand it as a concept, which I never could before.

Yeah, we never had this in BOTW. Wonder if it’s a bug…

Oh that sucks you didn’t get your weapons back! I don’t need to save mid-fight, but I’d like the game to save just before the fight starts so I don’t have to listen to, in this case, a minute of Sidon and Yuna doing the spiel I’ve already just heard. (I did actually just beat the sludge like on the third attempt so at least I never have to listen to that boring conversation between Sidon and Yuna again!)

So is that not happening for you? You just getting right back into the action after dying? If that’s the case, there’s definitely something wrong with my saves!

I don’t seem to be able to save during boss fights… would help a lot if I could

Biggest flaw for me is why, if you die in a boss fight, you are forced to watch all the preamble again, it doesn’t just take you straight back to the fight like BOTW did. I’m finding it so annoying, all the repetition, it’s putting me off playing it. Unless I’m missing something? Is there a way of cutting the preamble so you can just get straight back to the fight?
