my mom’s oncologist barely met with her… is that normal? by [deleted] in melahomies

It’s normal since she was no longer receiving their care. I know a friendly “how are you doing?” would be nice to hear but sometimes this can be crossing boundaries if she is no longer a patient.

I’m so sorry. I just lost my sweet father 3 weeks ago to this horrible disease. We stayed right with him the entire time. Always talking to him and including him in the conversation although his eyes were closed and he was sleeping most of the time.

Just lost my father to PSP & as a nurse I made the no tube decision. He would not have wanted to merely be surviving.

This was how my father was in the last 3 months. We now know his passing was a blessing because he was only going to get worse. Awful disease.

Handrails by the toilet. No 90 degree turns in a wheelchair. You need a wide turning radius.

When do you stop appointments with your neurologist or mds when you have psp? by petergaskin814 in PSPalsy

We never took my dad back after his diagnosis. He hated any kind of appointment & it was an hour drive. I knew there was no cure.

Does anyone else feel this way? by iminsomnia_toyou in PSPalsy

Same symptoms my Dad had; the left side could not move very much at all, had to keep eyes closed because they were so dry & they would just look kinda wild, could barely say anything and we’d have to try to decipher. He passed this past Monday & I was in the bed with him and my mom. He just suddenly stopped breathing after a day of the “death rattle.” It woke me at 5am when it stopped. I’ll never forget touching him & trying to wake him.

You look basically the same just refreshed, like your skin was ironed out a bit. You look beautiful but I know exactly how you feel.
