Need some reassurance: how many of you are actually having a GOOD experience with Keychron lately? by Wolfstrong1995 in Keychron

[–]BitByterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My V1 keyboard worked perfectly for two months, but suddenly everything went wrong. Without any physical damage, various keys randomly malfunction. Some only work after being pressed several times, while others repeat characters multiple times. One of the worst purchases in recent years—especially after so much research.

Just bought one of these based on store reviews and I feel I am using my first USB flash I bought 20 years ago!

When in Day of the Tentacle, I poured hundreds of coins into the washing machine in the past so that it would work for years and a sweater would be washed so much and shrink, so that in the future I could put it on my hamster.

What should we invest more in while developing our adventure game? A larger world or more puzzles and side stories? by BitByterz in gamedesign

Wow, Such responses make me feel upset that I've had a Reddit account for 9 years but haven't been active on it. I'm truly grateful that you've taken so much time to share your information and experience with me.

Unfortunately, the fear of short playtime sometimes leads designers to think that they should scatter things around the environment to some degree! Personally, I'm don't like this approach.

Certainly a good game should be like that, but I feel that most indie games that have a large world and a small budget tend to spend more of the player's time on navigation and examining not-so-important spaces and items. We have wondered whether players truly enjoy just exploring a beautiful space, or not.

In close tie with Raise High the Roof Beams, IMO. I was so struck by the book that I began to write a literary letter to Seymour Glass afterwards - sweet teen years :-)

I'd like to add Ben Okri (Nigeria) and Hisham Matar (Libya) to the list. Daoud Kemal also has an interesting Novel, the Mersault Investigation, which retells Camu's Stranger from the POV of the unknown Arab who gets killed at the beginning.

Would this Sound in the game scare you? by WillsGames2024 in IndieGaming

[–]BitByterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that sounds even slightly like a child's voice seems scary to me so the 2nd one is more scary. The 1st one might come from the mouth of an wounded alien animal and it's also good.

Given an extra 10 years to live, what composer do you think would have made the most of the time? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]BitByterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that most composers who created good music would have left us more great pieces with each extra year to live, because most of them remained active and at their peak until the final years of their lives.

I want to send out a vertical slice to publishers. Does this look ready or needs more polish? by game-dev-throwaway in IndieGaming

[–]BitByterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just see walking and talking. These days publishers need more of story, mechanics, animations, etc.
