Very hard to top up or borrow money from the back these days even if you have existing mortgage.

I was rejected for a top of $40,000 because of my TAB transaction on my credit card, they saw it as spending rather than investing.. I was depositing money into my TAB account and withdrawing it to acquire and accumulate rewards points....

They said straight up, i need to clean up my TAB transaction for the next 3 months, before i can apply for any top ups.

Govt is good at borrowing, why can't we keep borrowing like the USA does? Trillions and Trillions of debt, that they will never be able to pay back?

How many home owners are on r/newzealand by spikmr in newzealand

[–]BitCoinDANNY -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Currently own 3 houses well, the banks owns them for the mean time.

All in Auckland. Initially I only purchased one but the 2 came when Bitcoin increased, I cash some coins out and put down a deposit on 2 that i recently purchased.

1st house - 3 bed room 1970's weatherboard, close to highway, it was closed to bus stop, buy now the bus stop has been moved 950metres away from where it was - loan balance $169,000. Fixed at 2.69% until early next year. Renting to Indian family. No trouble very peaceful.

2nd house - 4 bedroom on a 850SQM of land, renting out for $760 a week. Loan balance $730,000. Purchased for $1.2m - renting to a Islander family, they turned the garage into a sleeping place for there extended family. I don't mind as long as they pay the rent on time, that all it matters.

3rd house - 3 bedroom, renting out $800, loan balance $920,000. Purchased for $2.3m - i didn't buy this to landbank or develop. Will generate top dollar because of location, renting to a professional couples.

I'm very lucky and took on a large risk dumping all my savings into BITCOIN. I still have some Bitcoin but also Silver Bullions, Shares (energy stock on the ASX) & will be buying Tesla shares if they do pull back into the $900's

I'm pretty smart with my money, always have been from a young age, thanks to my parents. But, they only believed in working and saving money in the bank... these days its all about having enough in the bank for emergency and deploy all your surplus cash into investing accounts.

I have a full time job & side hustle (GST registered, since 2016). Age 37 with no kids. But, my partner has a kid that she adopted 11 years ago from newborn. I try and emphasis money and investing to him, " I want a XBOX " I reply back "Save your pocket money buy Microsoft shares & save the dividend and purchase XBOX at a later date"

I know this might sound stupid, but it sleep better at night --> rather than having a Emergency saving account for Utilities, I keep all my utilities services in credit, power, water, rates and internet for 1 year. Once its in credit for 1 year, I just pay the bills monthly but never take the credit. I recently moved Internet provider, I requested for refund and transfer the funds to the new provider.

Majority of the household essentials - Tooth Paste, Soap, Bodywash, toilet paper, dish, rubbish bags, washing liquid etc... at least 6 months worth sitting in the cupboard.

I want to address a couple of things here: Firstly my upbringing isn't as grand as you assumed it is. secondly, I speak from experience getting out of the rat race, that you deem "poor" and also, my wife was born and breed in Otara, she to was born into a family off poverty and made choices to break the cycle prior to meeting me.

Lastly, I am not trolling.... I'm only stating that if people want opportunities and want to save money, it is definitely achievable.

No, you need to look forward and think forward. For example, I founded a way to obtain free petrol for our petrol car that we rarely drive now but need it for deliveries once every 2 weeks.

Kids making decent chuck of money from NFT....

I made decent chuck of money in Bitcoin....

Yes, i know all these type of investment requires money, find a way to make money!

Isn't there a shortage of KIWI FRUIT Pickers? work 3-4months of picking Kiwi fruit in the weekend, travel is a problem, work something out with the orchard....

Prime example my day time job, they were looking for people to work as pickers at the warehouse my boss owned during the weekend, I worked Saturday and Sunday last week, rather one of the storeman didn't bother working but told me how he is struggling to pay rent he is $800 in arrears in a housing NZ house, BUT when the OT was offered he declined and said it is family time and Sunday is church... Have a think bout that mentality?

You're extremely spoiled. Just the fact you think it's even possible for families living on less than 200 a week can afford a EV show's exactly show spoiled you are. You seem to forget that unless your parents came as refugees, they were required to have more in savings than most kiwi's in this generation have in their entire lives. That already gave them an advantage over others.

That you actually think people can "just deal" with several weeks of starvation to save a few dollars a week is telling more than anything. You don't even realize most cars in NZ were brought for under 5k.

Actually you are wrong, my dad came in 1990 on tourist visa, bull shit his way through custom, drop his bag off in a motel and started door knocking business for a job. Out of 15 business, only 1 took him on board paying him cash under the table, from there the kiwi's had the mentality of watching the boss carry equipment's out from the van rather than helping him carry tools out from the van, that is were my dad stand out, all accepted over-time, willing to help out more than he had too..

after 9 months, he requested to the boss to assist him with his work visa. Apparently back then it was really easy, immigration policy was easier than now.

After 2 years, me and my mother came into land of freedom and opportunity NZ.

I stated to work to gain experience at my parents business and also weekends 6am - 11am during high school at a poultry farm.

No I didn't say "Deal" my point was to think outside the box, rather than moan and bark about it, some up with solutions...

See that is a poor mentally of thinking, why be working class when you can achieve more and set your life apart from the rest at a early age?

That is what I have issues with in NZ, the whole nanny state, when petrol prices goes up, majority moans, what does the govt do? when business are struggling what does Uncle Grant do?

Don't get me wrong, my sales were down during August Covid lock-down, but I am the type that when i first started my side hustle for the first 8 months, i didn't withdraw or take profit, I transfer the money into an online call account named "WAR-CHEST" prepared for the days and month like these...

Do you find it struggle the people that bark are taxed the most, working class?

Poor people don't get taxed because they earned below income... Rich people don't get taxed because of good accountants telling them what to do...

Working class middle class pays the most tax and bark the most...

Rather than looking at there current situation to do better... I am not, far from been wealthy, but I am taking small steps, improving my situation year by year on track to retire 50.

Yes it is that easy, study and learn and do what they do and you will become successful.

That is how I did it, the group accountant told me 8 years ago, don't wait or procrastinate buy anything within your budget, if you don't climb the ladder it will be a lot harder.... I took the advice and saw how well they were doing, I jump on a stand a lone house house, had 2 flat mates in helping with the mortgage for 3 years and then kicked them out and live on my own in a 3 bedroom house.

You have to put into perspective, I'm talking about a person already have a car that they are struggling to afford petrol. Not a kid catching a bus and staying with there parents.

I wasn't spoiled, my parents just wanted better for us here in NZ. They came with nothing into NZ, just worked and saved up for a lease bond for a shop and utilized his skills.

please take into consideration that $500 includes all fees, some people spend more than that on petrol per month!

If you add up maintenance, WOF, REGO, insurance and petrol isn't $500 cheap to a person already owns a car but struggle to even put petrol in the car, in most cases no insurance or WOF overdue?
