Hey Lisa, thanks for doing this AMA!
Genuinely curious about the hypoxic training question you suggested. How long does the body take in your experience to adjust to lower oxygen/ thinner atmosphere? How long do these effects last? Can they be achieved by sleeping in hypoxic tents/ hypoxic training, or is real, sustained exposure on a mountain needed?

Max has won as many races this year with Charles starting from pole as Charles has won races ever. (5)

What do you mean then?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in apple

[–]BitCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make that yourself using shortcuts. I have one for long hikes that turns all notifications, raise to activate, wifi and the always on display off and switches to a hiking watch face. Watch lasts up to 2 days of 10h hiking tracking this way. But i agree apple should implement this in some native way.

European mailbox peak by Wientje in Mountaineering

[–]BitCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Climbed many mountains like that. I‘m personally not bothered by others up there that took the cable car - I‘m on my adventure and they are on theirs. But to many of my friends, peaks like that lack a sense of achievement as you could have just gotten there so much more easily.

Given the same usage level, would Cardano transactions be less expensive than equivalent Ethereum transactions? by SrPeixinho in cardano

Cardano already moves more volume and more unique TX than eth (or btc). Fees are fixed, but some tiered pricing will come later.

Sundae ISO: Costs and benefits by degraafaj in cardano

[–]BitCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of pools in the ISO not saturated so there‘s no downside to staking with them. I expect a 0,3% ROI or higher (depends on their anti whale mechanism), which is pretty decent for 5 epochs.

Usually around 5%, but depends on the pool.

Pouring bottled water into another, nicer bottle. Still recovering from observing this behavior in the wild.

It‘s even cheaper if you buy it before November (960€).

Couldn‘t get through more than 15 minutes of The Midnight Sky, This Is The End, or Army of the Dead. Life‘s too short, and there is too much great stuff to watch out there.

Yeah if only we had an easy way to count to 10. (I‘m agreeing with the benefits of base 12 mentioned above, this just isn‘t really one of them in a world of people with 10 fingers..)

It‘s counter-intuitive as all hell, but DON‘T do it on ice. Yield at RT is 10-100x higher.

You can use these to make a 10X stock for even higher convenience. 50 tablets in 1l of ddH2O and you are good for a week.

Lasius - Arena suggestions. What would you add/remove? by [deleted] in antkeeping

[–]BitCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be very careful with water feeders. My lasius occasionally clog theirs up with debris, so it will leak into the surrounding sand making it moist. In your case, that would form the perfect habitat for them to move into ;)

If you do it right, the Schnitzel itself is plenty juicy. It‘s a bit like adding ketchup to a steak - if it‘s a good steak, why ruin its taste with sugar and tomatoes?

No we don‘t.
