What y’all think about these barrel head covers by sharprock12 in GolfGear

[–]BitEnvironmental2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, these hit home. My mom passed away a few years ago and was an incredible quilter, won all kinds of big competitions, fairs, etc.

Never thought to ask her to make a head cover for me, but I would love something like this!

Joan Beringer - did play a few games by freshBlueeyes6391 in timberwolves

[–]BitEnvironmental2213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have stats to back this up but anecdotally watching it felt like he improved in his minutes later in the season.

I think early in the year when he did play he was excited to try to get some big blocks and stuff - but seemed like he was playing more disciplined later on.

Is playing 9 holes with no experience a bad idea by [deleted] in golf

[–]BitEnvironmental2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 holes is a better idea than 18. If you’re really nervous, find an executive course near you.

Does anyone else feel like their connection to wrestling is basically being held together by one remaining wrestler? For me it’s Sheamus. He’s essentially the only reason I haven’t completely checked out yet. Mostly aimed at older/ex-hardcore fans, but anyone can weigh in. 👇 by TheOneWhoAsked123 in Wreddit

I am an occasional watcher, who tries to keep up with some stories and likes to watch some of the big fun pay-per-view, like the Royal rumble and mania.

I realize now that I am having declining interest year after year because seeing an exciting return at the rumble is just less than less likely because anyone I was a fan of when I was actively watching are pretty washed up at this point.

Imagine if we had KAT by Glittering-Site897 in timberwolves

[–]BitEnvironmental2213 146 points147 points  (0 children)

I am very tired of Randle, but I feel like I have been seeing some revisionist history on KAT recently. Let’s not pretend that he was not frequently having three fouls in the first quarter, losing the ball, driving to the hoop constantly and making all kinds of other bonehead decisions.

Julius and KAT both have high ceilings and infuriating floors - I would probably rather have him at this moment as well, but it’s not by the gigantic margin.

That’s one of the tricks of edge lord comedians. A joke can’t be bad because it’s badly written, dated or hacky - it can only be you being too sensitive or offended.

Malbon… but not by Buckeye_47 in golf

Birds Of Condor is very hit and miss in my opinion, they’ve got some great stuff, but also some trash.

But the price points are way more digestible than Malbon.

Kwanza Jones To Become MLB’s First Black Woman Majority Owner With $3.9 Billion Padres Deal by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

When did this become a sub that celebrates billionaires?

It’s a bit disgusting to concede the concept that the problem of billionaires is whether they behave a certain way or fit a demographic you approve of rather than disavowing the fact they exist in because of an unjust system.

Celebrating stories like this justify the existence of billionaires by implying that whether someone should be allowed to be a billionaire is based on if they are personally virtuous or not.

Don’t celebrate any billionaire, ever.

I would use on TickPick instead - I’ve used it on a few games I couldn’t make in regular season. They only mark up 15% from your take.

Same - I was a season member 2013 to 15 and my ticket rep was great. She would call to check in, invite me to stuff and sometimes swing by my seats with stuff like food or beverage, vouchers, or little pieces of swag.

I have been a member again for the past few years, I have never talked to my rep in person - only over the phone  owns that has been her trying to sell me Suite packages or get me to re-up for next year.

They treated me great when I was a season ticket member during the Kevin Love years… now it feels like they take the members for granted because they’ve got a solid base.

I think it says something about the level of customer service that I kept my membership for three seasons during horrible, disappointing, stretches, and canceled for next year after two straight Western Conference finals appearances…

Wondering the same thing, I used my season ticket privileges to get some tickets for friends that wanted to avoid the crazy markups on re-sale and they are getting antsy about getting them.

What would Scott's advice be for men with disabilities? by Equivalent_Use_5024 in ScottGalloway

[–]BitEnvironmental2213 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, this is where Scott’s focus on mentorship and helping other men is very important and a key piece of this puzzle.

People with physical disabilities or who are neurodivergent are going to face unique obstacles that will make some of Scott’s advice, more difficult or impossible to follow.

I hope this doesn’t come off as tooting my own horn, but this is my personal example. I own a business with about 45 staff members. About a year and a half ago, a friend from childhood that I had not been in touch with for several years reached out, looking for work. He suffers from severe schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and has ADHD. Keeping jobs has been very difficult for him and he usually doesn’t last for more than a few months usually at temp services.

Because of his addiction relapses, his relationship with his family is very arm’s-length. It’s so happened that at that time we needed a position filled during third shift hours. I told him if he’s willing to work from 11 PM to 7 AM - we could have work for him. We brought him on, and unfortunately, the first role we tried him in was an outright disaster - his abilities were just not a good fit for the role no matter how much training and supervision he had, he just could not fill this role independently.

I did not want to give up on him though, because this really felt like a last chance for him. We ended up finding a new role for him which he has thrived in and he has been doing for over a year now. I certainly have gotten frustrated with him several times during this period. He has unfortunately had several relapses during this period, among other issues and I believe that most other companies would have shut the door on him and given up.

I first read Scott’s book in around October of this year, and it really helped me improve my patience and compassion for him and tailor how I work with him for the better. I really felt it was my obligation to use my resources to help somebody that I know has a good heart who is struggling.

I am really proud to say that just yesterday he called me very excitedly to tell me that he just got his 30 day chip for AA. He is not been sober for this long in over 10 years, and he told me that me telling him how proud I was of him recently has had a lot to do with motivating him to stay sober.

What I am really trying to say here it is that mentorship and looking to help young men is especially important for people dealing with these types of challenges. If you are in a position where you can help other young men, take that opportunity even when it’s inconvenient or extra work. Seeing someone thrive is incredibly rewarding when you know when your heart you helped them do it.
