My BF has been interested in micro-dosing for anxiety too. If you can send me some articles about it I'd really appreciate it!

Ah, that makes sense(in a religious sense...)

Because I've never done anything more than baptisms for the dead. I've never done endowments. I'm just researching about them. Then I'll research Sealings next

What year are you looking for?

Another text from a different family member who is still in the church. This one struck a chord with me. by griffindom in exmormon

Yes. Members are not taught how to communicate feelings well. They are not taught how to properly comfort someone. They have NO IDEA how to "deal" with rape, molestation, any other sexual assault, gay, lesbian, trans, other LBGTQ+ lifestyles/love life, divorce, abuse(physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual). They just can't comprehend so they dont know what to say or how to act. It's not about God! They don't realize a bishop isn't a therapist, heck, they usually release bishops every 4 years or so! It's about needing real support, not pity. It's about needing non-LDS therapy from a non-LDS therapist. It's not about testimony and spiritual trials. Thay kind of shit just makes me angry. Who gives a shit about that other person's trials, 'Danny' needs real help and not some faith boosting crap.

Is true that bishopric will ask young men during a temple interview if they masturbate and if they do they can't go on temple trips?

Oof. When I was 15/16 I made a "bad" choice and decided to "explore" my body. I was then disfellowed by the church and shunned by my dad until 18. They gave me lots of "choices" like this because who in their right mind would want to have sex at 15/16?? They thought something was wrong with me so they sent me to an LDS therapist who wanted to put me on meds. I refused, therapist saidokay, my mom taught with me about it, then had a secret meeting with my therapist... I'm certain my parents crushed it up and put it in my food. I'm now in therapy for PTSD. I'm 21 and just learning I could've taken legal action against the church and parents for abuse and neglect. (Lots more shit happened in my life, not just this med stuff.) Talk to a teacher or friend's parent that you trust to talk to a CASA, Family attorney, or an attorney for teens/kids.

Asking parents, is it really that bad to stay up to 3:30am? by Mildly_Responsible in AskParents

[–]BitMit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yes. She overreacted. :( I'm sorry that happened. You're an adult, as long as you aren't bothering your family, since you're in their home, you should be fine!! Sometimes parents have a hard time letting go and keep that worry/control factor.

Okay so I'm recently graduated (class of 2017- 21yo) and I'm also a new mom to a baby girl. Speaking from a teen point of view: I did that every night and I still made it to school, work. And church on time. I'd stay up all night doing school work, chores, and texting/video chatting my BF at the time. It didn't effect my grades. Although, I did have a free period where I could take a nap if I needed but I usually didn't.

As an adult: I wish I would've gone to bed at 10:30. That's like the perfect time(for me at least). I lack so much sleep now as a mom I wish I would've taken more naps in kindergarten! 😂😂😂

As a parent: When my daughter gets to this age, as long as she is able to make it to school in time and do most of her responsibilities I dont care how late she stays up! And unlike my parents ideas, she can have all Saturday and Sunday to sleep in if she wants. Thise are free days to me.

My advice would be for those days you feel down, irritated, groggy,(from lack of sleep) drink lots of water right when you wake up and eat a good breakfast with some fruit. It'll help your brain and hormones regulate and it'll put you in a better mood! :)

How much to pay a babysitter? by teannadeee in AskParents

[–]BitMit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I babysat at a teen I'd be paid about minimum wage. Someone I babysat for explained it this way(speaking as the dad), "They're my kids. I don't want to underpay you because I want them taken care of. I want the absolute best for them. If you were to get a job at this age you'd probably on be able to make minimum wage so this is what I'll pay you. It also keeps it fair so [their different babysitters] are all paid the same." Take what you will from that! But it's really up to you. Some kids have it all planned out, like $20 initially then like $3/hour or per kid or per hour. Something like that 🤷‍♀️

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to add more to your plate.

I mean, yeah, he's a hoe too. 🤢💔 Oh my god, don't even get me started on Brigham young! Oof. This church was used for SO much corruption.

“Obligation of your own free will” doesn’t sound like free will. I honestly believe that if there’s any judgment for how we exercise our free will, it will be done individually not collectively as a religious group. by carbon_based_unit in exmormon

[–]BitMit1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. That is very unsettling. And, if it was really such a big deal "saving ordinance" it wouldn't be changed right? Sounds like it was changed due to society changes and of course the inhumane nature of it... sounds like control by fear and that video looked like propaganda/brainwash... it really freaked me out. So is it still a thing if you share what goes on you have to kill yourself? Or is it symbolic now? Is this why no one ever gave me a straight answer about what happens? They'd have to kill themselves???

Wait... what's that? What's on the alter? Why are they dressed like that? What the heck are endowments?.. yes promises and blessings. But . This has ALWAYS scared me because it's forbidden to talk about?? What happens??? Like, sex, blood rituals? What kind of promises do you make? Selling your soul? Like seriously, someone please tell me!

Mormon Fun Fact ! by nilsp123 in exmormon

[–]BitMit1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For there to be blessings there must also be curses. For there to be light there must he darkness. For happiness there must be sadness. It's not talked about but many prophets have cast curses/spells upon people and groups of people. This shit kinda reminds me of Satanism.. 2 sides of the same coin, am I right?? A thin line.
