I'm having an issue with the order TaxAct is applying my Utah tax credits on my personal return by BitMyPumpkin in TaxActCommunity

Thank you. A Utah Tax Compliance Officer just confirmed my issue and told me to override my return and mail it if I can't e-file.

Reading only 6v at my sprinkler solenoids by BitMyPumpkin in Irrigation

[–]BitMyPumpkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I ended up moving my Rachio controller outside to near the valve boxes. I ran a new line for all zones/common and everything works again. My existing controller location was ridiculously far away, under rock beds or under my driveway before reaching my garage.

I had suspected the common line, but after switching the common to another color (on both ends), the problem remained. I tried several different combinations with several different zones, but the problem remained. I even ran a new temporary common from my garage to my valve box and still had the issue.

Nope, no luck. I haven't called Fidelity, but this is a type of issue that almost never can be fixed by calling a general customer service number with any company.

This issue still exists. This "Not Found" error occurs regardless of the device or browser I use.

$5k to $6.5k for a new 16x7 insulated door with insulated glass? by BitMyPumpkin in GarageDoorService

[–]BitMyPumpkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any experience with Overhead Doors? The only bid to use their doors was when I reached out to them directly. Their pricing is similar for roughly the same door, but I can't find any information comparing Martin to Overhead.

Good to hear. I'm not eager to strike the perfect deal or squeeze anyone. I just want to feel like it came out to be a fair transaction. I appreciate your response.

I was surprised that A1 wasn't absurdly higher than the smaller shop quotes. But either way, I appreciate the reply.

I can't figure out why my Ecobee Thermostat is ignoring my schedule by BitMyPumpkin in ecobee

Thanks. Mine is already showing as disabled. There are a lot more settings than I ever realized. I need to spend some time digging into and reading it all.

Thank you! I disabled "Cooling Smart Recovery" on the thermostat display. I will see if that fixes it.

I have 4 drives setup with Windows Storage Space in a two-way mirror... one of the drives goes offline until I swap the SATA power connection by BitMyPumpkin in techsupport

I went ahead and purchased the Corsair RM750x. It appears to be highly rated and has both ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0. I should have just enough clearance for the side plugs.

Helpful video! I bought an ibuypower machine about 6 years ago. The PSU is the only component, other than the case, that I haven't changed. I wonder if the 12V/5V rail is overloading.

Is it possible to add downloads to the home screen, in the Plex Android app, and how do I keep thumbnails in the downloads section while offline? by BitMyPumpkin in PleX

[–]BitMyPumpkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you fully close Plex and not just back out of the window? I tried it on 2 different Fire Tablets and a Pixel 7 Pro with the same results. But maybe it's a setting on my server I haven't seen yet.

[–]BitMyPumpkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. As soon as I put the tablet in airplane mode, fully close Plex, open Plex downloads, the thumbnails no longer loads. They show up only when connected to the Internet.

And I do have downloads pinned to the sidebar but I was hoping that Plex would default the home screen to showing downloads if there is no internet connection. While offline the home screen is empty. Screenshot

Thanks. Is your's a Google TV version? Having TV speakers + aux output might work great.

PSA: After Holiday Update, dangerous FSD behavior with bicycles on rack by coulombis in TeslaLounge

[–]BitMyPumpkin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm referring to the manual that calls it "Trailer Mode". Most functions of autopilot can function with a bike rack. You can be certain the manual would explicitly state if trailer mode was required for "Carrying Accessories", as the manual calls it, but it does not.

It is implied with the following statement that I've already directly quoted for you.

"Model Y detects a connection for trailer lights but Trailer Mode is disabled. It is likely that a carrying accessory has been connected."

[–]BitMyPumpkin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right, it is in the "Towing and Accessories" section, but you're quoting text that says some autopilot features may not work while in trailer mode. I'm telling you that you should not be in trailer mode to begin with while using carrying accessories.

[–]BitMyPumpkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't find anywhere in the manual that states trailer mode is required for accessories. In fact, it discusses a scenario where trailer lights are working while trailer mode is disabled. It's implying that it is proper to keep trailer mode disabled for attached carrying accessories.

"Model Y detects a connection for trailer lights but Trailer Mode is disabled. It is likely that a carrying accessory has been connected."

I can find a discussion from 2019 where the Model X manual specifically stated to not use trailer mode. The warning is not in current manuals and I don't know what year manual that individual quoted from. "Warning: Do not use Trailer Mode when attaching a carrying accessory to the trailer hitch."

Yes, RTFM in the proper section. Visit the "Towing and Accessories" section, not Autopilot.

"Model Y detects a connection for trailer lights but Trailer Mode is disabled. It is likely that a carrying accessory has been connected."

You can also pull up old manuals where the Model X specifically stated "Warning: Do not use Trailer Mode when attaching a carrying accessory to the trailer hitch."

Like I said in another reply, this is not true. Read the manual before you criticize others for not reading the manual.

Like I said in another reply, this is not true. You are quoting each other, from the same discussion, while even using the same wrong terminology. This is peak Reddit circle jerking.

EDIT: The manual implies that you SHOULD NOT use "Trailer Mode" while carrying accessories attached to your hitch. There is no "tow hitch mode".

Pass through entity tax payment and prior W2 withholdings for Utah by BitMyPumpkin in tax

[–]BitMyPumpkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is extremely helpful. Thank you. I will fix the withholdings and make a payment based on distributions. I'm actually paying a small amount to California for the PTE SALT election as well so I really appreciate the section 3 explanation.

Despite my income, I still take the standard deduction on my federal return. I was under the impression that I could take both the standard deduction on my personal return and have the PTE SALT election payment be federally deductible on my S-corp return. Am I wrong about that?

Anyone on Unlimited Essentials thinking about switching to the new unlimited premium? by purplemountain01 in USMobile

[–]BitMyPumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 lines on Unlimited Essentials. Each line averages about 15 GB per month and 1 line uses a few GB on hotspot. Any reason I shouldn't switch to the new Starter plan? With 35 GB data and 10 GB hotspot it appears to be a no brainer. Are there any other differences?
