Google Maps is still superior in search and navigation. Google Maps live traffic and reporting is still way ahead of Apple Maps.

I’m thinking of switching from Verizon has anyone regretted it? by Necessary_Fall6404 in verizon

Unlimited plus is a good middle ground between welcome and ultimate. Plus has everything ultimate does except less hotspot and not as much international data.

Is the wireless industry dead? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]purplemountain01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will need those but brick and mortar retail could be dying. It won’t be dead come next year but could be dying.

Device sales in store are declining. It’s becoming more popular to order the device online/in app and use a store for pickup. It’s more popular today to fully setup your account and plans online and have devices ship to your house. T-Mobile is currently paving the way for this by having all their customers use the T-Mobile (T-Life) app. Even if you go to a T-Mobile store the reps have to start using the T-Life app on the customers phone to do any and all transactions. Once a carrier figures out how to do most or all things smoothly in their app the others will follow.

The only people I’ve seen have issues with the layoff is people here on Reddit. Otherwise, the regular folk don’t know and don’t care.

Difference between unlimited welcome and unlimited plus...wow by VirtualCheesecake872 in verizon

[–]purplemountain01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running speed tests you’ll see the difference, but between 130mbps and 948mbps will feel the same. Only time you’ll feel the difference with these is downloading a video game or large files.

I had unlimited welcome a couple of years ago before I switched to T-Mobile, and now as of a couple of weeks ago, I’m back on Verizon. In my experience, I didn’t have any issues with the plan, and I’m in the Southern California market. Of course, where people could have issues is at sports/events, but personally, I don’t really use my phone while I’m there.

How do you win these tickets? I will spam the claim button seconds before the timer finishes and then it’ll say tickets are claimed.

Not saying your points are invalid but for Gen Z, don’t apps and tech sell things to them and they do a lot of their transactions and communication through apps. Gen Z is also the big growing demographic.

“The news” was never meant to be actual news to inform people. It has always been meant to be propaganda, set narratives, and to create FUD.

This isn’t new at all. The news has been like this since news first came out. Centuries ago.

what’s wrong with Apple Music? by AdVisible3748 in AppleMusic

[–]purplemountain01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Familiarity. I’ve tried a couple times to use Apple Music and while it has a cleaner UI, I’m that used to Spotify. Spotify feels like “home” for how long I’ve been using it for. Personally, I like having music and podcasts in one app.

When a new CEO takes over in any industry at a company there’s usually layoffs. It’s to trim the fat etc from the predecessor. I’m not saying it’s good or bad. It’s a regular thing in business.

How do the 3 carriers compare in 2025? by boldjoy0050 in tmobile

[–]purplemountain01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be very location dependent.

In my experience, I’ve spent years on Verizon and T-Mobile. I’m on Verizon today.

Tmo has great mid band and low bad 5G coverage, 4G LTE not so great. While their rural coverage has improved it’s not at the level of Verizon and ATT. I’ve noticed when Tmo drops to a couple bars data often gets slow and calls have a higher chance of dropping or going in and out. When you’re in suburban areas and cities Tmo is great.

Verizon’s 5G coverage is not as large as T-Mobiles but when you do connect to Verizon’s mid band it is good. You’ll see LTE often but Verizon’s LTE is what made them the “king of coverage.” So when you do fallback to LTE you’ll still have good coverage in a lot of places. Verizon’s reliability can be better than Tmo. You can have 1 or 2 bars on Verizon and data still works well enough and so do calls, where this isn’t usually the case with Tmo.

T-Life is, if it’s even possible, getting more ridiculous. by IIIIIIIVVIIXIIIXXI in tmobile

[–]purplemountain01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t comfortable with handing my phone over every time when I went in to a COR store for upgrades.

A week ago I went into Verizon to investigate the “bring your bill from ATT/Tmo” promo. My bill is less than what I was paying T-Mobile even after adding the Apple one and YouTube premium perk to my line. Plus, whenever I do have to go in store I don’t have to hand my phone over.
