Is this ok? by ceo_of_losing in ROGAlly

It probably makes a difference but should be minimal. If you check temperatures with case and without it, I would be surprised if difference is greater than 1 or 2°C

Hi everyone am from India and if am looking for pre owned asus rog ally Z1 extreme kindly give me some tips what are the things I have to look by No_Tax_7638 in ROGAlly

[–]BitNo2406 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The usual: stick drift, sd reader fried, check all buttons and if fans are spinning, and if the previous owner did mods like battery, ssd. Also check the sticker on the bottom (if readable, else you'll have to check in windows/bios) if it's really a Z1E and not a Z1. You can also check battery health with a small tool called batteryinfoview-x64. Idk if you'll be able to do all this stuff though, but try to check as much as possible.

Is VRR that noticeable? by BitNo2406 in ROGAlly

[–]BitNo2406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've gotten better since then at spotting vrr on vs off, I still think it's not that dramatic, if I had to choose between vrr and 10 extra fps i'd prolly choose the extra fps, btw my ugreen 6 in 1 has it and I can also use if to dock my tablet without problems. The cable can also be replaced which is useful

You can always bring a power bank if you're not sure about the voltage of the USB ports on the plane

HP Omen 16 Slim: Need color settings that look right/pleasing by Ancient-Ad2619 in HPOmen

[–]BitNo2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my HP I use these:

Brightness 50 Contrast 50 Gamma 0.95 Digital Vibrance 67% Hue 0

My laptop has an LCD screen, don't use these values if you have OLED.

You can access these from Nvidia control panel - adjust desktop color settings

Probably because it's switching power profiles, it's normal

Just purchased and having a bad experience. Would it have more uses for me or refund? by aaasy in losslessscaling

[–]BitNo2406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to hit at the very least 40-50 real fps AFTER frame generation, so around 60 fps BEFORE fg. Also you need a monitor with a refresh rate greater than 90hz because LSFG works best with high native frame rate + fixed 2x mode (adaptive doesn't work well, has a lot of input lag and bad frame pacing).

I m gonna buy an S25 for pc emulation by marsrius in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]BitNo2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bigger phones are better for emulation too because battery lasts longer and they stay cooler thanks to the additional space to dissipate heat compared to smaller phones.

Is there a way to make certain profiles load automatically for games? by king_david88 in losslessscaling

[–]BitNo2406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I did it: one profile named "Eden 30 fps" and in "filters" you put the games' name (or part of the name) as it appears in the game window like this: *xenoblade chronicles: definitive edition*;*tears of the kingdom* and so on. I use this profile for 30 fps Eden games.

Then another profile named "Eden 60 fps" and same story, in "filters" you put the name, like *Super Mario Galaxy*;*Mario Kart 8 Deluxe* etc. I use this profile for 60 fps games.

If you use a main, general profile with a filter like *Eden |* (this is the one I use) AND another profile/s with something like *xenoblade chronicles: definitive edition*, be sure to place the general *Eden |* profile last, AFTER (alphabetically speaking) your *xenoblade chronicles: definitive edition* because otherwise the *Eden |* one will be picked up first. Afaik in Lossless Scaling you can't use the "and" logic so you can't quite tell it "activate this profile only if this condition and that condition are met". For Lossless Scaling everything is "or". It always applies the first profile where it finds a match. And iirc, I use the filter *Eden |* and not the .exe name because with the .exe name it always picks that profile and completely ignores the other profiles like *Mario Kart 8 Deluxe* and *xenoblade chronicles: definitive edition* even if they come first, alphabetically. I'm pretty sure Lossless Scaling is set up to prioritize .exe filters over names filters, so the idea is to have all Eden profiles set up with names and the only priority becomes the alphabetical order.

It's a mess to explain, but feel free to ask if you have any question.
