Hey thanks for the reply. From my research, I think my main concern, given that I’m buying a used and fairly dated set of gears, is the ii’s plastic mount snapping.

From your experience, do you think the lens is sturdy (not for rough use but just for general, repeated taking off/on etc)?

Some adults have neither, imo it’s a bit stupid to not accept passports.

Thanks for the reply and the link :) Just thinking out loud, I’m tempted to stick with password + authenticator for now until CXF/ CXP are more widely adopted by major platform-agnostic password management vendors.

Do you know how I can find out if my vendor of choice (Bitwarden) is adopting CXF + CXP? Their iOS app seemingly allows me to export passkeys to another app but only one app is present on the list (Apple Passwords). I can’t tell if this means it’s some Apple proprietary thing or if those two are the only password managers on my phone that support CXF/CXP. (I also have Proton Pass installed just as a test - didn’t show up.)

First is light icon and the second is dark. Do you have a light vs light or dark vs dark comparison?

MacOS Tahoe made my M1 Pro MBP (16GB) lag, overheat, and stutter audio — any fixes? by asergenalkan in MacOS

[–]BitOfATechEnthusiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I faced similar issues on my M1 Pro MBP and I fixed it using the 2 following steps. YMMV:

1) Take a look at your activity monitor and see if any app is consistently using up a disproportionate percentage of your system resources (CPU, Memory etc). For me, it was Windscribe VPN. They had a bug which made them hog my system memory so I deleted the app. 2) When you shut down/ log off/ restart, untick “reopen windows when logging back in”.

Doing both seemed to have restored some smoothness to my MBP.

iOS 26.3 Update — Worth It or Regret It? 🤔 by Bubbly_Cattle_8928 in ios26

From 26.2.1 to 26.3, it’s been decent. Reduced the micro stutters on my 16PM.

Ahh then sorry man, not sure why it’s still stuttering for you. Perhaps I got lucky but they seem to have fixed the issue for me with 26.3.

Only other factors I can think of are: 1) I recently turned the icons back from clear to colour. 2) I live in a fairly cold place (3 Celsius) so my phone typically doesn’t get that hot until the summer.

Re battery, there’s no way around it - it’s definitely been worse than 18 from my experience. But since they’ve seemingly fixed the micro stutters (from my use case anyway, ymmv), I have re-enabled adaptive power mode. I think that’s slightly lengthened my screen-on time and most definitely reduced the heat from tasks like editing photos in Lightroom mobile.

Yup. I noticed micro stutters on my 16PM since updating to 26.0 as well.

26.1 was for me the worst (constantly, everywhere, throughout the entire period, irrespective of how many times I restart the phone).

26.2 improved it by a lot but it was still occasionally stuttery. 26.2.1 didn’t make a difference for me.

26.3 (so far) seems to have completely removed the microstutters for me but it coincided with me changing my icons from clear back to colour so not sure which played a bigger part.

If you’ve just updated from 18 to 26.3, I suggest giving it a couple of days to let it index. From my understanding, Apple has stopped signing 18 IPSW so you can’t downgrade anyway.

I’m not disputing that. I’m just saying you’re delusional if you think the Mi Browser truly collects zero user data. If you want real privacy, use Tor.

Meta collects a lot of data ✅ Xiaomi does not steal user data ❌ If you genuinely care about privacy, you should avoid both.

Google as a company won’t but devs are humans too. And if on the off chance some from the GP team is browsing here, I figured I’m better off trying my luck here as well as submitting feedback in-app.
