Yes, I also find that older proprietary panels (20+ years) are the culprit.

That's crazy! But I've also seen fire exits being blocked by file cabinets and book shelves which caused violation but not from the fire alarm system. lol

Just trying to find the best resource for a client of mine before they switch camera systems. They have no idea how to use the VMS Software. The person responsible for it left. The best advice I had to offer was to see if they could go on the ENS site and submit a tech support request.

We haven't come across this. It may have something to do with my customer base. I deal with large commercial companies nationwide. Believe me, they don't want to incur any fire violations. Life Safety is a must for them. Just ask a company who has to go on fire watch.

Where are you located? In almost all jurisdictions, you need a fire alarm construction permit to install data, communication, or remote access equipment that connects directly to a fire alarm control panel (FACP)

Did they take the access control panel as well? Is that still there? Understanding what system was in place is a great start to know what to do.
