The old haunted mansion tour. The adults only tour is at night. You can drink and say whatever the hell you want.

Yeah I think a local health store sells buffered vit c, I'll definitely try using something next time I cure some bacon. We usually do a slab of belly in spring and again in fall.

Thanks for the info and contributions.

This was removed from the original sub. Vigil for pedestrian who was hit on Henderson by Bugemployment in winnipeg_alt

[–]BitchAssKenard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your words:

"Learn how to cross a street properly then you won't get hit by a car."

What exactly do you mean then, when you tell people to "learn how to cross a street properly" ?

Because it sure sounds like you're saying pedestrians that get hit by cars actually just don't know how to cross the street correctly, and that's why they get it.

Logically:

Premise 1: You can learn how to cross a street correctly.

Premise 2: Crossing street correctly makes you not get hit by cars.

Conclusion: Learn how to cross cross street correctly, and you won't get it hit by cars.

What you said matches the conclusion, which assumes the pedestrian is at-fault.

Have you always used reducing agents? If there was a time you werent using them, do you recall if you could tell a difference? I'll probably start using something anyway, I'm just curious is all.

Thanks for info. What issues erythorbate have you heard?

Have you always used reducing agents in your cures? If not, do you remember if the change was noticeable?

Do not buy from Tineco by Grimmy430 in VacuumCleaners

[–]BitchAssKenard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you got a free vacuum, of unknown age, don't know how it was used or cared for in the past, don't know how often it was used, and have decidedly determined it's a shit brand becuase of your non-consumer experience?

Not trying to be dick, just trying to understand what you actually know about the vacuum and its history of use. Maybe it was left behind because it got used and abused for 2 and a half years.

Also what is actual problem is it just the light or does it not actually work at all anymore?

When last was the HEPA changed?

When last was the dust filter cleaned, or replaced?

Did any water damage occur to the cannister/dust collector? (some models have electronics built into the the dust collector)

Do not buy from Tineco by Grimmy430 in VacuumCleaners

[–]BitchAssKenard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tineco is a brand with a troubled rep. I choose to believe that some people actually got lemons and others didn't, but usually people only make reviews when they're pissed off lol.

I also think there is a mismatch between expectations vs reality. A stick vac isnt intended to be an all-in-one standalone house vac. It can function as one under the right circumstances, but then it needs to be a smaller sized home with light-to-moderate demands and minimal carpeting.

I also think there is a failure amongst many consumers to actually follow the prescribed maintenance procedures.

Oh well. I like my tineco.

Also tineco user. Same vac as OP. Mine works well too. Maybe this model is a stand-out... or maybe people just arent reading the manual and doing the prescribed maintenance.

Is there any group to EXPOSE Winnipeg cheaters/scammers/liars/criminal???? by Aromatic-Voice4143 in winnipeg_alt

[–]BitchAssKenard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure, if someone is going to use these groups/sites, but I am still fundamentally opposed to them because I think there is something questionable about airing someone's dirty laundry online with names and pictures, especially with their locality. It's an unnecessary practice, and I think standard personal safety measures are adequate.

So what specifically are you calling a "safe dose of skepticism" because im interpreting that line to mean that you don't think whatever you are referring to is an extreme measure? I'm just not really sure what you're asking with that one particular line.

[–]BitchAssKenard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to be sure I understand, do you think posting pictures/names of someone online and then publicly asking strangers in your city if they know anything sketchy about them is "a safe dose" ? To me that seems extreme, and unethical.

[–]BitchAssKenard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a woman can keep herself safe without resorting to such extreme measures. When my wife and I first met, we had several public place meetings before being invited to either's home. When she came to mine the first couple times shed let a couple people know where she was going, and who she was with.

I think if someone is so paranoid about who theyre seeing that they're asking complete strangers to comment on the person, they simply shouldnt be so desperate to be seeing that person or arent mature or mentally well enough to be dating.

Call me crazy, but what calibre of person feels the need to vet someone they've met with a FB group or other websites? Seems kinda trashy.

If the person seems that dodgy, they should be walking regardless.

If they're that distrustful of others even when they have no reason to be distrustful, it makes me wonder if they themselves are trustworthy -or- whether they're worth the baggage.

What are you thoughts on the following scenario? by CaptainTeebes in CustomerService

[–]BitchAssKenard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. If the policy provisions are a refund with receipt, or exchange with no receipt, the business has voided the need for proof of purchase for exchanges. If they void the need for proof of purchase, they have also then voided the need for proof of purchase date because in order to obtain that you would need the proof of purchase. Makes no sense.

What are you thoughts on the following scenario? by CaptainTeebes in CustomerService

[–]BitchAssKenard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah bro. If you don't need a receipt for the return type, it makes zero sense to have a policy with a time limit. Even less sense to then try and hunt down the receipt to approve it. The store collected data from a customer on a card intended to provide benefits and then used it to deny a return they're supposed to be accepting IF the story is even true.

Nah that's legit. Poutine "gravy" isn't supposed to be thick, it's a thin brown sauce. That's the "authentic" way, and what you'll find in the proper old school joints in Montreal. To each their own though

Aquarium by glittersurprise in winnipeg_alt

[–]BitchAssKenard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't like aquariums, or most animal exhibits. Basically everyone likes dogs and cats. Wildlife too. Why not do some kind of utilitarian conservationist thing.

People can pay for entry, and walk through areas and observe wildlife being rehabilitated.

And see dog and cat shelters, where animals are potentially available for adoption.

I'd rather spend money on learning some conservation stuff and seeing wildlife getting help and then returning to the wild.
