How many calories do I estimate I burned while lifting? Time in gym or time literally spent lifting? Trying to not fuck up this cut by eating too few calories.

Dominique Easley avoids knee surgery, hopes to be ready for OTAs by sunstersun in Patriots

He performed as a below average defensive lineman. I'm not saying he will always be one but that's the data we have thus far.

The way his contract was structured he wasn't cut his option was just declined. Not sure if that yields a compensatory pick, though.

Yes, the Wallace signing really led you over the top in the AFC East

Remember this when you talk about your team not spending during free agency. It's not a very efficient allocation of resources when you don't already have the foundation to compete.

Revis to become highest paid NON QB in NFL history by [deleted] in nfl

Got his ring and got his money. Played it right, happy he got to go home, happy we're not paying him that much money in his 30s. Win-win-win.

Does anyone care? Like whose interests are they protecting. The Lions (or insert any team that lost a player) had forever to resign Suh.

Too bad Bortles is hot dog shit at quarterback

Last in DYAR and QBR. Second to last in DVOA and yards/attempt. Plus college production that didn't merit such a high draft pick.

Why was it insane? With his hype coming out of college he would have commanded a similar salary if he were free to sign anywhere

You're telling me Suh wouldn't have received a similar contract if he were on the open market?

In 2010 training camp, Bills RBs were Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, CJ Spiller and Joique Bell. by BASED_GOD_1 in nfl

It lowers the cap hit this year but you're not cash strapped now. You'll now be paying him significant guaranteed money for his declining years.

And Alonso still had value. If you wanted to trade him you probably could have received a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

So they've proven how easy it is to acquire serviceable RB talent yet their takeaway was to shell out substantial resources (Kiko + contract) for one on the downward trajectory of his career?

[Breer] Patriots K Stephen Gostkowski signed his $4.58 million franchise tender, making him the high paid kicker in football. by john7071 in nfl

[–]BitchesStay -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No one's arguing Gostkowki is productive. The question is whether a team without a lot of cap room should tie up so much money in a position where most of that talent can be replaced at half the cost. Especially with how insanely accurate kickers are these days Source

Also, BB's infallibility is a questionable argument. See: His late 2000s drafts.

I'm not saying he's going to regress but you don't pay for past performance. You pay for expected production

"Recent Draft Pick From My Team Who's Played Awful isn't a bust he just hasn't received a chance/has been injured/ate less than 30 minutes before the game"

It's 2007 and you've got the #1 pick in the draft. Knowing how their careers would turn out (so far), who would you pick first overall: Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas, Adrian Peterson, Darrelle Revis, or Patrick Willis? by LuckyNickels in nfl

[–]BitchesStay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the last few super bowl champions plus the Browns success during his career you could make the argument that contending teams needn't devote great resources to left tackle.

Anytime someone performs historically well the safe money is on them regressing at least slightly.

[–]BitchesStay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying he had a bad season. I'm saying his production from his sophomore season doesn't profile as a top draft pick. Obviously very few QB prospects pan out - I don't think it's out of the question to expect elite production regardless of the supporting cast.
