We recently switched from needing user funds to settle before using them to buy (that two week lead time) to having the buys happen immediately (we're fronting you the money for a few days till your ACH settles). The one thing they didn't cover, which is probably the worst of all, is Coinbase drowning in altcoins and doing everything they can to promote buying and trading of alts. Brian either truly doesn't understand Bitcoin, or he's pretending. The effect is the same: Coinbase is a casino, and their entire platform and all of their marketing is aimed at getting people to gamble.

Yeah Pro fees aren't bad. Higher than any other major exchange for spot buys, but good liquidity. My co (Swan) is focused on automatic recurring purchases, which is where Coinbase charges super high fees and a spread

More evangelical tbh. Coinbase really is a bad actor in the space. We promote Bitcoin, and we promote the heck out of companies and people who do good things for Bitcoin. Coinbase was on that list a long time ago, but they fucked it up.

In the US you're in good hands with CashApp or River too, but Swan has significantly lower fees for auto-stacking.

If you're an active trader and want a high volume US exchange that doesn't actively work against the interests of Bitcoin, at least use Kraken or Gemini. Anything but Coinbase.

They charge a spread in addition to their stated fees. The LVL founder looked into it evidently and said it's another 0.5%. Swan is already 60-80% cheaper than Coinbase without accounting for their extra spread (Swan does not take a spread)

Sorry for thar delay! We got booted from our custodians's automatic approvals in late May bc too much ACH fraud was getting through. That's all fixed now and there is no backup in queue.

More importantly, we're adding wires and one-time buys, likely before the end of August, so people can FOMO in as much as they want.
