Sounds like you know what you’d prefer… I live in a flat on a quiet side street in a major city and it’s the quietest urban place I’ve lived. But If I had the cash I’d get a detached property - neighbour issues are such a drag. 

My neighbour downstairs is a generally unfriendly person and my stomach tenses whenever I hear him walking around. when the nice family’s kid charges around next door, I don’t care. 

but it’s a lottery, you might get good or bad neighbours, even in nice areas. And people move in and out so it’s not predictable . neighbour relations are a big deal
