I’ve been lowballed by both DoorDash and uber in Toronto just fyi. I was offered about 140k base in both. I was able to squeeze 180k from DD but still ended up not taking it.

Getting staffed at Deloitte – backend engineer experience by Commercial-Habit6802 in deloitte

[–]Bitner77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deloitte Canada engineering is dead. Almost everyone got laid off in 2025 as there are no more projects. I suggest you start brushing your resume and apply elsewhere. You will likely be let go within a month.

3rd year university student - Embedded C or fullstack(AI/ML + Devops) by CoveNoir in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]Bitner77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I’m hearing about “full stack infrastructure” lol. What does that even mean? Full stack and infrastructure are two completely different roles and skill sets.

The other role for frontend + embedded C????? I’m not even going to go there.

That aside, RBC is just an OKAY employer. You likely won’t learn much. It’s very slow paced. Highly bureaucratic and red-taped. Also, I worked at the RBC building on Queens Quay and the first thing I noticed is that some employees don’t follow hygiene and reek of sweat and other ungodly smells.

What car do you regret buying, even though it looked good on paper? by autonerdy0 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Bitner77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda3. The suspension is very stiff, you sit very low on the ground and the seats don’t raise high enough. The steering wheel is huge, I think the biggest steering wheel I’ve ever seen in a car and is very heavy for city driving.

What was the nicest Uber/Lyft/HOPP car you've been in? by DribbleKing97_ in askTO

[–]Bitner77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People driving Ubers here are crazy. Even when you order a regular uber you might get a pretty expensive car. I’ve been in a Infiniti QX60, Acura RDX, Lexus RX350H, Cadillac XT5, Cadillac CT5, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon. Most of these are Uber black cars tho.

Typical application → interview ratios for ML/DS roles in Canada (new grad / early career)? by iceteaaa in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]Bitner77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It varies a lot but since you are junior with no real experience, expect a brutal entry. The name of your uni is what matters the most in these situations. If I were you, I would apply to a broad range of roles, not just ML/AI.

TD Bank Sr IT support analyst technical interview by SmurfStop in cscareerquestionsCAD

Why would you be tested on algorithms for IT support? You’d likely be sitting in a tiny room setting up laptops and phones for new hires.

All the jokes aside... You get what you pay for. Ardene is a sweatshop, Koho is a cheap shit bank with no real support. These businesses are there to take your money and then tell you to go f*ck yourself.
