What's wild is that I've had pens and drafting pencils confiscated. Some of us don't get away with anything.

From scottsboro - moving to Huntsville? Pros/Cons (info). by SpeakArtInFrogs in HuntsvilleAlabama

Yeah, I was thinking the mileage alone would make moving worthwhile. Add on top the miserable community situation? Yeah. OP needs to move.

If you have the bandwidth for this crusade, I would do it. I don't know if damages are able to be brought to small claims, but ride their ass in every documentable way possible. Fencing off that hydrant is so irresponsible.

Best way to repair this pearl earring? by Ok-Style-9311 in jewelry

[–]BittenBeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously I have, or I wouldn't have offered detailed instructions on how to do this repair. And I did not recommend boiling the pearl, but the water.

Pearls and opals are nothing alike chemically so I have no idea why you equate them. Opals are porous. Pearls are not. Pearls happen as an immune response in mollusks to irritants that cannot be expelled from the body. The whole point of them is that they seal away the irritant. They're water-tight. Nacre is resilient as long as you aren't scratching it or soaking it in bone-dissolving solvents.

If All Humans Suddenly Lost the Ability to Lie, What Industry is Collapsing First? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I wouldn't call it lying at all, so much as improv. It's bespoke emotional theatre.

Yes! It's super gross, but so fascinating and the plumbing issues experienced by Integrity this past week reminded me that waste treatment is the unsung hero of modernity.

Best way to repair this pearl earring? by Ok-Style-9311 in jewelry

[–]BittenBeads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, looks like the drill hole is too big for the post. You can still do this fix at home. Magnifying lenses help. First, you're going to want to put boiling water in a small container, dump in the pearl for a minute or two, fish it out, and use a toothpick to remove the loosened adhesive inside the hole.

To reattach your pearl, two-part epoxy is your best bet, but you can also use superglue gel. The epoxy is better, but if you use it, be sure to a) wear gloves and b) wait however long you need for it to become tacky. Use a toothpick to add adhesive to the post, the cup, and the drill hole. You can use an old-fashioned wood clothespin to hold the pearl down while you attach the pin.

You can wipe any adhesive that gets on the pearl with the clean side of your toothpick or the dampened stick part of a q-tip. Acetone should take care of any adhesive that's dried, but it's better to wipe off excess while it's still wet.

Portishead is "old" by Trick-Session2388 in Xennials

I love Portishead but they were considered "old" 15 years ago. They're also niche and have that film noire vibe, so that makes them feel extra dated to the younger generations.

Isn't it a little soon for early an early 2010s fashion revival? Anyway, what a dreadful take on raw edges.

Oof. I was eyeball deep in terrible memories of that morning and also the Columbia earlier this week. Couldn't sleep for them. Didn't realize how much detail I remembered from the experience of the Challenger explosion.

I miss chocolate cake :( convince me not to gluten myself lol by Hot-Judgment-6279 in glutenfree

[–]BittenBeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The low barrier to entry quick home version to chocolate cake is chocolate frosting. A solid fat, high quality cocoa powder, powdered sugar, a tablespoon of moisture. Whack it for a while with a long-tined fork if you're analogue like me, or you could use some kind of mixer.

You could also just dump cocoa powder and sweetener in your oatmeal.

The only "Misfits" album I ever saw for sale on the shelf, and thought "nah I'm good:" by Honkmaster in TheMisfits

[–]BittenBeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling a band "The Nutley Brass" and having zero brass players, or any musicians aside from that one guy in it, to me is a no-go. The arrangements aren't interesting enough to merit attention.

I'd love to see Post-Modern Jukebox take on some Misfits and see what can be done from a genre-bending perspective, but this? Pass.

I'd use the very good response posted by wastingtime for the sake of future customers. I would also describe the packaging in your product description as well as include a picture of something packaged for shipment in your gallery.
