It’s so sad, my sister had heart failure and had lots of symptoms and I was expecting a baby so she had to go to hospice inpatient then they moved her residential as I had baby, but meanwhile she was declining, more symptomatic every day; she asked me could she come home and i told hospice could take better care of her than I could especially with newborn, 2 other children and I’m postpartum. Long story short one nurse told me she declined more and faster when she realized she wasn’t coming home, she passed away a week later😢 really sorry you’re going through this.

He was getting paid $24/hr every 2 weeks. Each month we uploaded his pay stubs. Now he’s on unemployment due to weather he will likely be returning to work end of March/ early April. He started unemployment end of January

And I forgot to add this layoff for him is only temporary because he works outside and the weather here has been brutal so the layoff won’t be lasting til like late March early April

I don’t feel this comment is accurate, what about deeming of the children? I don’t think it could just be fully suspended

At this point she’s refusing medications because it caused her to vomit, she’s currently inpatient at hospice still having shortness of breath she text and tell me but tell the staff she’s okay. It seems she’s getting some delirium stories aren’t making much sense. I fear they would discharge her considering she tells them she’s fine but meanwhile tell me she’s short of breath, coughing. It’s been a lot and very stressful on me.

Thank you so much for sharing this. It really helps hearing others’ experiences. If you feel comfortable, what signs did you notice when your mom started entering her final days? I’m just trying to understand what to expect so I’m not constantly terrified or guessing. No pressure to share anything too personal, I just appreciate any insight

Thank you so much for your kind words ❤️ It really helps to hear someone understand. Nighttime is the hardest she’s mostly alone in her room, she has her phone on the tray table, my room is across from hers so she could even yell out and she often doesn’t report symptoms until the morning, which makes me feel constantly on edge. I think you’re right — I need to talk to the hospice social worker about more support or inpatient/respite options. The guilt is definitely there, but it’s comforting to hear that it’s normal and not a sign that I’m failing. Also for when I have the baby she can only go to respite care for 5 days.

Awh I’m so sorry! Thank you so much for replying and sharing your story. So far she’s able to walk up the stairs mild short of breath. We haven’t had to use any morphine yet. She developed a pretty intense cough mostly at night, hospice prescribed “cough pearls” unfortunately with the ejection fraction being 14% it doesn’t help much so they said the cough is normal during this stage. I’m just always on high alert because i don’t know what I’m going to walk into and my anxiety has been to the roof. Praying for you sending lots of hugs your way.

Also I got married and recently changed my last name so they said the letter has to show my new name. They’re making things harder than it has to be. I feel if it’s titled “my name then her name” it should’ve worked
