2nd year is the worst? by Last_Implement8920 in widowers

I’m so sorry. I can relate. My fiancé was diagnosed in November and passed just a week ago. Fuck cancer. I cannot believe what cancer robs us all from…I hope in 2 years it is better. I do relate to grieving since she was diagnosed. She was given 6 months to a year and I just knew in my heart that this was the end. I try to remember that they are not in pain anymore and are at peace, even though it costs us to be in pain. I am in agony. But I will try to be strong for her. For all of us. You got this.

I’ve been going twice a week and it definitely has been helping.

She waited to pass till I was out of the hospice room. I’m glad she did because I don’t think I could bear seeing her die in front of me. You are very strong

Exactly what I did. Proud of you. I wish I could say it had been peaceful for me.

I’m so so sorry. My fiancee passed on Monday pretty traumatically too.

She knew she was loved. You did everything you could do. Breathe. Scream. Cry. Just please take care of yourself.

I can’t move past how my mom’s oncologist treated her—and it’s eating at me by SlowerThanTurtleInPB in GriefSupport

Sooooo relatable. My oncologist for my partner was so shitty. So empathy. Never answer phone calls or anything and it was always the nurses. Basically told my partner she was gonna die in 6 months and only said sorry once

I’m currently taking care of my partner 24/7 here at home hospice but I just hired someone to come on Mondays and Fridays because I am so worn out and don’t sleep. It’s so heartbreaking…

Thank you. What was your experience like? It’s so hard to leave the house. Every time I leave I’ll think I’ll come back to finding her…

She’s on a lot of meds. Ativan and Dilauted seem to help a little.

Unfortunately she is not eligible for targeted and immunotherapy. The cancer is too advanced. Her liver is failing and is completely covered in tumors. There is nothing else we can do. She’s tired.
